slide2. Background Information on Timmy Timmy’s full name is Timothy Tiberius Turner.
He is the protagonist in the cartoon called The Fairly Oddparents.
Timmy is a misunderstood, average ten year old with prominent front teeth.
His parents are neglectful of him and constantly leave him under the care of an evil babysitter named Vicky.
After a year of torture Timmy Turner obtained two Fairy Godparents to look after him, Cosmo and Wanda.<br>
slide3. Diagnosis Neglect of a child is known to cause many mental health issues, whether it be earlier or later in life. Timmy has been neglected by his parents for most of his life. He is also a misunderstood kid, which most likely causes him to feel even more isolated from everything around him. Since Timmy’s parents were always away from the house, they hired a babysitter named Vicky. Vicky was a bad person who had it out for Timmy. The two kids hate each other, and Vicky is the cause of a tremendously large amount of stress on Timmy’s life and mental well being. After dealing with a whole life of neglect, and a year of torment from Vicky, it is believed that Timmy’s dwindling mental state completely collapsed. This is when he obtained his two Fairy Godparents. Timmy most likely made up these figures in his head to look out for him, because he was no longer mentally capable of fending for himself. Timmy is being diagnosed with Schizphrenia.<br>

Background Information on Schizophrenia Definition of Schizophrenia - a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behavior, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into fantasy and delusion, and a sense of mental fragmentation
Due to the fact that Schizophrenia is purely a mental anomaly, it is very difficult to have a set known cause for the disease. It is most likely a compound of multiple aspects such as genetics and behavior, as well as many other influences.
Schizophrenia can cause hallucinations, delusions, and confusion. It can also change the way a person thinks, feels, and acts.<br>
slide5. Symptoms The hallucinations of two Fairies that can grant Timmy any wish he wants were the first thing noticed when diagnosing Timmy. It is believed he made up the figures to play the role of his parents (since they are rarely present in his life), to protect him from Vicky and the crudeness of the outside world, and to let his imagination supply him with anything he wants and to take him any place outside of his current situation. The second thing noticed is that the figures take the shape of any item Timmy has with him at any certain point in time. When he goes to school he believes his books, pencils, erasers, or etc. are his Fairy Godparents there with him to protect him from bullies and to help him with his schoolwork. After the development of the Fairies, Timmys actions and mood changed rapidly from depressed about everything to happy and joyful about life.<br>
slide6. Treatment Schizophrenia isn’t something that can be cured, however it is something that can be slowed. There are certain medications that are proven to help reduce schizophrenic behavior in some patients. However, it would be a better option to lean towards different types of therapy sessions first. All medications have side effects and it is always best to see if other options can help improve an illness before giving any patient a potentially mind altering drug. I think what would work best for Timmy would be group therapy with his parents, and hopefully that can lead to Timmy’s parents becoming more prominent in his life. Another important issue would be to hire a new babysitter, Timmy just has to convince his parents that Vicky actually is evil. Timmy might also need further therapy sessions one on one with a Psychiatrist who is specializes in schizophrenic behavior.<br>
