There are 2 types of Grants available……1 to cover living expenses (the MAINTENANCE GRANT)
1 to cover your college fees (STUDENT CONTRIBUTION GRANT)

In general, if you qualify for a maintenance grant you will also
qualify
for the Student Contribution Grant.
However, if you don’t qualify for a maintenance grant ..…
you
might still qualify for
50
%
of the student contribution grant.

The Maintenance Grant is funding available to Undergraduate
Students
pursuing approved courses inside and outside the Irish State …. it even travels with
you to …for example…Scotland.Grant rates for qualifying students vary according to a number
of
factors
including: household income, family size and whether the
student's college is close to their permanent residence.
In other words, it is 'means tested
'.It is paid into your bank in 9 monthly instalments.

The Student Contribution Grant pays the ‘college administration fees’ which are typically €3000 per year.This Grant is paid directly to the college/institution you will attend, on your behalf, once the college has confirmed your registration as a student.

If you are eligible then register your details, log on and fill in the form.
Make sure that you have checked the SUSI Grant Scheme Check Box in yourCAO application when it reopens in May 2018.
