*If your Kobo device uses an Android operating system, use the “Cloud Library for Android” instructions instead Cloud Library for Kobo eReaders DOWNLOAD THE APP 1. On your computers internet browser, go to https://www.guelphpl.ca 2. Click on the eLibrary tab, then click eResources 3. Click on Cloud Library under the eBooks and eAudiobooks category 4. Click on the blue DOWNLOAD APP button in the top right corner of the screen 5. Click on the button corresponding wi th your computers operating system 6. Click the red DOWNLOAD button . T he file will appear on the bottom of the screen; click this file to open 7. Click YES and follow the prompts to complete the installation LOG IN 1. Open the app and select Canada, Ontario, and Gue lph Public Library from the list 2. E nter your library barcode and PIN in the boxes provided and accept the Terms of Use ; your PIN will be the last 4 digits of your barcode OR the PIN you use with your library account 3. When prompted , s elect AUTOMATICALLY GENERATE ID , then click ACTIVATE BORROW A BOOK 1. Choose a title by browsing or by searching 2. Au diobooks are indicated by a headphones icon i n the bottom corner of the cover 3. Click on the cover of the book you want to borrow 4. Books that are available for check out will show a gre en button that says BORROW; click th is button to check out the item 5. To exit the book and continue browsing, click the CLOSE button in the top corner of the screen YOUR ACCOUNT  If you get a new library card, please notify staff so that your Cloud Library account can be updated to match your new barcode  To log out of your account, click the barcode number i n the top right corner and click LOGOUT PLACING HOLDS  If a book is checked out, you can place a hold on it by click ing the ADD TO HOLD LIST button  To receive email notifications for hold requests, select SETTINGS; select EMAIL NOTIFICATION , then click YES NOTIFY ME and enter your preferred email address  If you prefer not

to receive emails, check the MY BOOKS tab to see when your book is available  Once a book is available, you have 3 days to check it out before it goes to the next person RETURNS AND RENEWALS  You can borrow up to 20 items at a time  The borrowing period is 21 days  I tems return automatically when they are due  To return items manually, select MY BOOKS, click LIST VIEW, then click the red RETURN button for each book  You cannot renew items  You can check out items again as long as there are no holds  Y ou can place up to 30 hold requests at a time BROWSE FOR BOOKS 1. To browse featured collections, select FEATURED; to see more of any collection, click LIST VIEW on the right of the category 2. To browse by genre, click BROWSE; select a category, then click right or left to view the genres; select the ones you want to view SEARCH & FILTER BOOKS 1. To search for a specific title or author, click on the search bar and enter the author or title 2. To filter your searches , click FILTERS along the top menu ; select th e ite ms you want to see while browsing TRANSFERR ING BOOK S 1. Once you have checked out a book, it will automatically download to your computer 2. Plug your device into the USB drive of your computer 3. Tap CONNECT on your eReader 4. On your computer, hover your mouse over the book that you would like to transfer 5. Click the TRANSFER TO DEVICE button HELP! SOMETHING IS NOT WORKING! UNINSTALL & REINSTALL APP (WINDOWS) 1. Click the start menu and type ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS 2. Press the ENTER key 3. Select cloudLibrary from the list 4. Click the UNINSTALL button 5. Click YES to uninstall the program from your computer 6. Download and install the program again UNINSTALL & REINSTALL APP (MAC) 1. Click on the Finder icon 2. Click APPLICATIONS on the le ft side of the window 3. Right click cloudLibrary in the list 4. Click MOVE TO TRASH 5. Enter your computers username and password 6. Download and install the app again
