Slide27Other Class Opportunities CTE Internship- This is a paid work experience opportunity open to all Juniors and Seniors (1 Semester or the full school year). You may be able to take your current job and turn it into a CTE Internship if it falls in one of the four areas below. Otherwise a Work-Based Learning Coordinator will assist you in finding a job for the Internship. Your occupation will have to be in one of the following areas: Family Consumer Science, Health Sciences, Industrial Technology, or Business. Whichever area your job is going to fall in; you also will have to take a class in school in that same area.
Most students that take part in this program will have it as their 6
th
hour class and leave school after 5
th
hour to go to work.
You also are required to complete one hour per week
in the classroom as a part of
this program.
You will get a credit each Semester as long as you meet all requirements. Students are responsible for Transportation to and from work.

Online course offerings are found on the “Course Offerings List” on the Registration website In Parent Portal when picking your classes you can search “Online” and all the Online options will be listed (Course Number will start with “6”)

Slide30COLLEGE ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Most 4-year colleges in Minnesota require 2 years of the same world language.
Some colleges also require a year or more of visual/performing arts. U of MN colleges have this requirement (band, choir, drawing, painting, etc
.).

4-year colleges (such as U of MN) also require you to be taking Math and Science courses as Seniors
. All students planning to enroll in a 4-year college we encourage to take a Math and Science as Seniors.

All Registration will be done in your Parent Portal
account
.
After logging in to Parent Portal you will click the “Course Registration link” on the left-hand side below your name. You will now be able to click the “Course Search” tab found around the middle of the screen.
When entering courses you do not have to enter in the full course title.
After you enter a course in select “Request this course” and the courses are automatically saved and listed
on the left-hand side here.
Make sure to enter in both Semesters of year-long courses. You are finished when you have 12 classes entered in.

The Registration Window in Parent Portal is open from Dec. 9th - Dec. 23rd. This is for all students who will be entering into 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Please complete your Registration in a timely manner.
