New HappeningsHappy Holidays! We hope this holiday season finds you and your loved ones in good health. Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day, we lose track of time and try to complete as many tasks as possible. In order to create memorable, fun, and teachable moments for our children during this busy season, we have recommended some activities that target a few speech-language goals. In speech therapy, we will be closing out the year focusing on helping students to keep track of their progress and to expand on their ideas. We wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year! See you in 2015!

Speech & Language To GoOver the winter break, don’t forget to work with your child on his/her speech and language skills!Visit the local library and pick up some books and ask your child questions. Below are some suggestions with the targets for each book is also listed.During play activities, have your child focus on saying his/her speech sound correctly. During meal time , play “word games” by asking your child to name 3 items a in a in a variety of categories (e.g., Holidays, Foods,, Clothing, etc.)

Los Nuevos Acontecimientos!Felices Fiestas! Esperamos que en esta temporada festiva que usted y sus seres queridos se encuentren en buen estado de salud. Entre El Día de Acción de Gracias y El Día de Año Nuevo, perdemos la noción del tiempo y tratamos de completar tantas tareas como sea posible. Para crear momentos memorables, divertidos, y educativos para nuestros niños durante esta temporada buen ocupada, les estamos sugiriendo unas actividades que se enfocan en ciertas metas del habla y lenguaje. En la terapia del habla, vamos a cerrar el año enfocándonos en los niños aprendiendo como no perder de vista sus objetivos y como expandir sus ideas. !Les Deseamos un Feliz y Saludable Año Nuevo!! La Terapia del Habla y Lenguaje en La CasaDurante las vacaciones de invierno, no se le olvide trabajar con su niño/a en sus habilidades de habla y lenguaje:Visite la biblioteca, escoja unos libros y hace le preguntas. En la otra sección hay sugerencias de libros y objetivos para cada libro. Durante las actividades de juego, hace que tu niño/a se enfoca en diciendo sus sonidos correctamente. Durante la hora de comer, juega con palabras y pregúntale a su niño/s que diga nombre 3 artículos en diferente categorías (ej., Los Días Festivos, Comida, Ropa, etc.)
