Problems and Difficulties
Journals not on shelf when patron or library staff needed them Barcodes were placed in different positions and hampered scanningMovers’ pace was too fast Work and other projects were held up as staff worked on the moveMCL had network trust issues with the main library because of HIPAA regulations so batch processing in the ILS was held up
Impact on Labor
Before the project: Travel time to and from the LSC = 1 hour/day, 3 days/week Time spent scanning journals = 2-3 hours/day, 5 days/week
After the project: Travel time to and from the LSC = 1 hours/day, 5 days/week Time spent scanning of journals at the LSC = 2-4 hours/day, 5 days/week
