May 2018Departure:Gym hall available from 8.40am on Tuesday 15th May 2018 for pupils and families. Return:Planned return for 2.00pm on Friday 18th May. Pupils can be collected then or thereafter. (May be subject to change). Medication:This should be clearly marked with your child’s name and dosage. Contact Arrangements:Pupils are not permitted to bring mobile phones. All contact details will be taken with the AHT and regular contact will be made with the school. You will be updated via text, facebook posts or a phone call, if necessary.

One of three National Activity Centres operated by Scouts Scotland, the Centre is set amidst magnificent West Highland scenery in Argyll and sits within the Loch Lomond and

Trossachs National Park. We welcome Scouts, Guides, youth organisations, clubs, special needs groups and students and staff from schools, colleges, and universities. We also cater for individuals and organisations interested in gaining National Governing Body training and awards.

Hints and tips Bring 1 black bin bag with your name marked on it for putting wet/dirty clothes in to take home.

The centre has a professional chef and team of catering assistants who will prepare and serve three meals a day.

Meal times will be between the set times but change each day to allow all groups to be first and last.

At meal times you will be responsible for

You will be very active during your stay and will need to eat more than normal Slide11

You will be representing your school when you visit The Lochgoilhead Centre,

a number of people will have certain expectations of how you will behave.

Rules

What we expect from you

Stay away from activity/out of bounds areas outside of activity times.

Be on time. (if you are late you will hold up others)

Stick to kitchen rules.

Use bins provided for litter.

Listen to instructions from staff.

Ensure you take all equipment back to where it was issued.

Obey the noise curfew at 10pm.

Try your best at all activities and give things a go.

A pupils ‘Code of Conduct’ will be issued, explained and signed by pupils prior to the visit. There is also an opportunity for you to reflect upon this with your child and sign to agree to the terms and conditions. Slide12

Additional Information:

If your child has an dietary requirements, we will need to know in advance so that provision can be made. Spending money – an agreed amount of no more than £5.00 to spend at the tuck shop .

Accommodation – lodges will be booked for the excursion – allocation of lodges and the composition of numbers depends on the number of pupils who wish to participate. Further information will be provided in due course.

What happens now?

Please sign the registers at the door to confirm your attendance this evening. There are some

stickies if you have any questions/thoughts – please write your question/ your name and I will get back to you.

Please indicate on the register whether or not at this point if you would wish your child to participate in the residential trip.

I will send out a letter early next week for you to confirm your child’s attendance. At this stage, final costings will be made based on numbers and a letter will be sent to you outlining the final costs and the details of the non-returnable deposit.
