Slide1

This photo was in my final 8 because of the big smile the model has that appears quite cheeky – an enjoyable trait for someone his age. The model is also looking directly into the lens to catch the readers eye and show his confidence. The reason for the school uniform was to show that it is a magazine based on school children and also makes him look more professional.

In this photo the models smile is more reserved and not quite as full blown, this makes him look more attractive for a young boy and also shows that he is well behaved. Again his looking directly into the lens is to show that he is quietly confident and invite the reader in to find out more. His pose is quite relaxed to show the stress free life that children should have at that age.

In this photo the models appear to be laughing and having a good time, which shows their care free status, they also both have their arms crossed, which whilst it normally would make them look more severe, their laughing state makes them look cheeky and fun. They are standing close together to show that even though they go to different schools (different coloured uniforms) they can still easily be friends. Slide2

I kept this photo in my final 8 because both of the models were smiling and looking directly into the camera, this gave them a warm and inviting look. The older boys arm is around the younger one connoting friendship, something that is aesthetically pleasing to the reader, I placed them against a white background so that it could easily be cropped out.

For this photo I positioned the models back to back and crossed their arms, this coupled with their smiles show they have a cheeky side, something that is often appealing in young children. Their heads are resting against each other to show friendship and a bond that classmates have with each other when they are young. Again both boys are looking into the camera to show they are strong young boys and also are drawing the reader in.

The next photo I did I had them stand side by side in a relaxed pose to show the more casual side of them, as well as this the more relaxed pose represents the stress free life at primary school. Both of them are smiling and looking into the camera audience, so it would appear to the reader that they are looking directly at them. I still kept apart of them touching (in this case it was their shoulders) to show the easy friendships students of that age have.Slide3

I chose this photo because even though it wasn’t a medium shot the model looks like he is peering off into the distance with a happy look, which could be translated into him looking into his future which holds lots of promise, he is also in quite a relaxed pose which projects his youth. Despite it not being a mid shot, I can easily crop it so that it fits the criteria.

In this photo I kept the model in the same pose as the previous photo because his relaxed stance represented how children should be when they are at primary school. He is smiling and looking directly into the camera to invite the reader in and show him to be a confident young boy, an attractive trait, that most parents want their child to have.
