Autumn termThis term we will be learning all about the World War 2. In English we will be reading lots of texts around our History topic and working towards writing diary entries and biographies. We will also be working on developing our grammar and spelling skills to help with both our reading and writing. In Maths we will begin by looking at the place value of numbers and the four operations (add, subtract, multiplication and division). We will be looking at how to answer reasoning questions and problems using these skills. We will also be answering lots of questions in the style of the SATs.

In Science we will be looking at living things including animals and humans. This will include looking at the circulatory system and how to live a healthy lifestyle.

ReadingYou should be read at home every night for at least 10 - 15 minutes. When reading talk about the book and try to answer any questions linked to the story. Please make sure either an adult or yourself writes a comment in your reading record or that you write the page number down you have read to at home. Bring your reading book and bag into school every Wednesday. It will be sent back home every Friday. Books should be finished by each Wednesday. You should be trying to read other books at home which interest you to help you understand the layout and language used in different text types. This will help you with your Reading SATs.

You should be using Reading Plus for at least 30 minutes at home every week to help develop your reading and comprehension skills.
