Synopsis- What
is it about- game of thrones is about a medical type world but with magic and dragons, two families have been at odds with each other for some time but the king believes that by marring his son to the daughter of the opposing family that it will help to put an end to it and create peace. But when the king dies and the other hose is blamed for it war starts, a war where families are turned against other families. Also a boy getting over the hardships of live defending the land and a girl who is married to help her brother prosper but becomes his end and then strives for a righteous overtaking of the lands. People state that they believe they are not effected but the content of violent games or shows but there are some figures to show that prolonged time in front of violent content can have adverse effects on young kids and the easily swayed people, such as the people that have learning or mental difficulty's
.
this is a good reason to why violent films and video games have a high age rating, to try and prevent young kids from coming in contact with such media but in the end it is up to the parents to stop them. Slide5

If you look at the graph you can see that the later more resent shows are the most popular, this is because the show as it has grown over the years has been slowly been growing in audience the graph shows this but also shows that the 5

The audience for this show can be varied but if you look up what the audience is supposed to be you will find that the expected target audience of the show is they believe is males between the ages of 18 – 25. the real target audience though is males between the ages of 18-29 who have a higher target audience rating then the higher aged groups. As the shows have progressed the rating of the show has gone up, before game of thrones,

most watched show was the sopranos, now the show has over come that.

The people who I talked to who like the show were both 17 at the time and are friends, this would put them below the age rating of the show but it also shows how now in the age of technology people are able to do things that they would have never been able to do before, such as watching shows that are set out for people to watch that are older then them because some of the content. They also said that they knew people who were younger then they were watching the show, some kids as young as 11 they said, this is worrying as kids that age can be easily influenced and so watching shows such as game of thrones that have sexual content in it is not very good for young kids.

The show is on a day later in the UK because , a.) the show is made in America originally for Americans by an American so it is only fitting that they get it show first, B.) if they wanted the show on at a certain time they might have to chose another day so that they would be able to show it at that time as time changes on the different continents. The shows are an hour long, in America they have adverts running throughout the show, but in the UK we tend to have less advert time then them so the show but the just run longer ads when they are needed.
There are 4 seasons so far. The last is the most popular. A 5

one is to come.

Ratings
Loads of people love watching the show, they get really into all the characters and connect with some of the situations, or certain things in situations that relate to there everyday lives, can help them to believe that there real lives are more exciting then they really are.
When I asked some Game of Thrones fans from my class why they liked to watch the show, there reply's were that they like to watch the show as it allows to the escape from reality for a little while, can be interesting trying to figure out what is happening next in the story, it was a talking point with friends for them so it also entertained them and they both said that they only got into watching in because some of there other friends had watched the show and recommended it to them.
