Father had a lot of questions
Father always went to Church with his family. He was devout, but he wanted to know more.
But the priest had no answers for the questions he asked. Slide4
Father Prayed…
… in the early morning every day before he went to school on a mountain top.
He wanted answers.
He was 16 at the time. Slide5
ON easter morning…
… Father went to the mountain top to pray as usual. But, today, his prayer was very focused.
While most people pray for food or wealth, Father prayed for his suffering Koreans. Slide6
The Koreans…
… had been suffering at the hands of the Japanese for years.
Most of them were extremely poor and were immediately killed for speaking out against the Japanese. Slide7
He prayed…
… that his brethren could be free.
He wanted to know why they had to suffer so much. They were good, God-fearing people. Why did they have to suffer?Slide8
Suddenly…
… in the midst of Father’s prayer, a figure appeared.
It was Jesus! Slide9
Jesus Explained…
… Jesus’ mission was cut short 2000 years ago. He was the Messiah, but because people did not believe in him, he couldn’t save the world.
Someone needed to finish his mission. God needed someone to finish it. Slide10
Jesus Revealed…
… that God had chosen Father to be that person. He just needed to accept.
Father thought about this, and he refused… Twice.
He did not think he was worthy.Slide11
God showed Father…
… his heart. Father felt all the pain and sorrow from God and could not stop crying.
At once, he knew he had to accept. He could not let God suffer. Slide12
On the third time…
… Jesus asked, Father agreed.
He agreed to sacrifice his whole life for this daunting mission.
The mission was huge, but Father went forward anyway and shoved down any doubts that arose. Slide13
QuestionsSlide14
Riddle me This…
What do you think God saw in Father that made him worthy of being the Messiah?
Do you think Jesus had these same qualities? How do you know?
Father was 16 when he got his mission. How was he different from other 16 year olds?
Why is God sad?
