Nickel has worked for Altra Federal Credit Union since 2004. “ Under Mike’s leadership, our talented lending teams set a new record in loan volume in 2020 at just over $1.6 Billio n, ” said Steve Koenen, President/CEO of Altra Federal Credit Union. “His extensive lending experience and industry knowledge will continue to help drive innovations and member experience initiatives within our lending areas and the c redit u nion as a whole. ” Nickel brings over 40 years of lending management experience , 17 of those years at Altra . He is a Rotarian and member of the La Crosse Chamber of Commerce. Nickel obtained his MBA from Viterbo University and his BS degree in Agricultural Economics and Math from UW – River Falls. He currently resides in La Crosse with his wife . In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
