What is YPAR?

Youth Participatory Action Research, or YPAR, is a research methodology that employs the participants themselves – the youth – as researchers, positioning them as experts in the research contexts

Steps in the YPAR process

Identify a problem in their community

Collect data on the problem using various research methodologies

Analyze the data

Draw up an action plan based on the data

Take collective action in addressing the problem in the hopes of creating positive change in their communities.
