CONTEXTThis mission is will be mainly based on economic mission in Iran.As part of an approach aimed at promoting international cluster cooperation for the benefit of SMEs, the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission (DG GROWTH) is continuing its support to international cluster cooperation through the European Cluster Collaboration Platform by

organising specific cluster matchmaking missions. This is carried out in support to cluster organisationss to develop partnerships and business cooperation in European and global markets, for the benefit of their members, and it is currently funded under the EU COSME

Programme

.

The NEW European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), launched on the 8th March 2016, provides a visible framework for it and for subsequent events. The ECCP is the cornerstone of the European strategy in support of SME internationalisation through clusters. The new ECCP provides a wide range of information and services to facilitate the interaction between clusters not only within Europe but also with international partners. The organisation of this matchmaking event is facilitated by a consortium led by inno TSD (France), in collaboration with Iranians clusters.The organisation of the matchmaking event is facilitated by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform consortium:

100 (68 SMEs)Sector of activity: Automotive industries, including vehicle, parts/OEm, sub-contractors and production machines (product transformation and sort lines …) Cluster mission: ARIA Normandy has an important experience in automotive sector and is developing in other industrial sectors (for these SME) based on the cluster strengths, e.g. high productivity and high quality industrial means. Its important experience in automotive sector is fully adaptable to other business sectors.

Participation objectives

: ARIA is very interested of the great business opportunity represented by re-opened Iran market. ARIA is involved (for our members) in an economic mission in September in Iran with the sponsoring of Renault and Peugeot-Citroën. These 2 companies are investing in Iran and involve French automotive cluster, like ARIA Normandy, to support the SME to develop business in Iran and work with these car makers. Moreover, the cars makers IKCO (Iran) and Peugeot (France) have a business agreement (production …) with important ambitions. This background shall leverage a fruitful C2C matchmaking for our automotive sector.

BIOENERGY FOR THE REGIONLocation: PolandYear of creation: 2007N° of members: 84 (53 SMEs)

Sector of activity: Clean energy, environmental technologies, eco-innovationCluster mission:

'Bioenergy for the Region' Cluster is a co-operation platform of over 80 companies, research institutions, local administration and business support institutions. The main aim of the cluster is sustainable energy development in Central Poland. In the context of climate change the cluster promotes innovative solutions in renewable energy sources (RES) and related environmental and eco-technologies in local and regional dimensions. In 2012, ‘Bioenergy for the Region’ Cluster was recognized by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development as a cluster of supra-regional importance for the Polish economy.

Participation objectives

: Bioenergy for the Region is very interested in participating in this event. The main reason is to increase the competitiveness of the eco-innovation technologies in Poland, e.g. using processing wastes for energy production. N° of members: 108 (91 SMEs)Sector of activity: Automotive industryCluster mission: CEAGA (Galician Automotive Cluster) is working , since 1997, to improve the automotive companies’ competitiveness through to made cooperative projects with high impact. All its member companies are participating in several projects in several areas: technological, to improve competitiveness, to improve process, internationalization, etc. All projects are directed by cluster staff with the participation of companies’ professionals. Projects are evaluated in all moment in order to monitor his development and impact in member companies and in Galician Automotive Sector.

Participation objectives

: Iran will be an important market for automotive sector in the next years. Companies like Group PSA (PEUGEOT, Citroën and DS) have just created a joint venture with a Iran company to install plants to produce cars, with a forecast to produce 500.000 cars/year.
