Can I do music if I didn’t do it for Junior Cert?It is possible to take music up in fifth year.However, having an instrument or trained voice is necessary.Theory and musicianship can be learned in fifth year but a strong work ethic is needed in order to catch up on J.C. material.Slide6
Music as a ‘points-friendly’ subject choiceMusic students have been most likely to receive an A, B or C at higher level over the past three years. The rate of A’s is also high with between 14-15% receiving an A2 or higher.The most common grade awarded last year was a B2 (19% of students)
