Electric Fish, Eels, and . Rays. For humans, we know that water and electricity . are . not good to mix. For some animals, this safety concern about electricity is not a problem. In fact, they survive because they can use electricity in the . Learning Outcomes. Distinguish between alternating and direct current.. State . the frequency of UK mains electricity.. Describe . how the potential of the live wires varies each cycle.. State . that the potential of the neutral wire is approximately . A) 1 m/s.. B) 1 km/s.. C) 10 m/s.. D) the speed of light.. E) 1 mm/s.. 2) When a current flows through a metal wire, the moving charges are. A) positive metal ions.. B) negative metal ions.. C) only electrons.. Eddy current inspection is one of several NDT methods that use the principal of “electromagnetism” as the basis for conducting examinations. .. Eddy currents are created through a process called electromagnetic induction. When alternating current is applied to the conductor, such as copper wire, a magnetic field develops in and around the conductor. This magnetic field expands as the alternating current rises to maximum and collapses as the current is reduced to zero. If another electrical conductor is brought into the close proximity to this changing magnetic field, current will be induced in this second conductor. Eddy currents are induced electrical currents that flow in a circular path. They get their name from “eddies” that are formed when a liquid or gas flows in a circular path around obstacles when conditions are right.. The return current neutralizes the current carried by accelerated electrons as they stream from the acceleration region in the corona to and through the hard X-ray source region in the lower transition region and chromosphere. . Electric Current. Electric current . – The net movement of electric charges in a single direction through a wire or conductor.. Voltage difference . – The force that causes electric charges to flow; charges flow from high voltage to low voltage.. Electric current. . is the rate of electron flow past a specific point in the circuit (how . fast . electrons pass . through a . point in the wire).. The symbol for electric current is . I. .. The units of electric current is . Q1) Who has it been announced is to become a farther for the third time? . Current events quiz 08/09/17. Current events quiz 08/09/17. Q2). .
