I will provide you with some sentence starters you can use with these organizational structures. I would like you to make use of them in your speech.

Topic/Objective (Periods 3, 4, and 6 )Monday, November 7, 2016: Analyze the rhetorical strategies used in four speeches and the persuasive intent of each speech. Evaluate the effectiveness of the structure an author uses  in his or her exposition or argument, including whether the structure makes points clear, convincing, and engaging. 

Get together with everyone who analyzed the same speech… (Periods 3,4,6)SPEECHES: Kennedy’s “Ich bin ein Berliner” Speech http://millercenter.org/president/speeches/speech-3376 Reagan’s “Tear Down this Wall” Speech https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjWDrTXMgF8 Robert Kennedy’s “On the Death of MLK” Speech http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/rfkonmlkdeath.html George W. Bush’s “After September 11 th ” Speech https://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/gwbush911addresstothenation.htm TASKS: Read the speech carefully. Stop at the end of each paragraph and jot down a one-sentence summary. Highlight any vocabulary you do not understand. Take note of the elements on the SOAPStone graphic organizer. Be sure to add the rhetorical devices used and the evidence used. (see your notes for examples)
