The GM responsible forbudgeting and budgettracking,oversightofbookkeeping andaudits, maintenance of records, grant trackingandreporting,andfinancialreporting Personnel management . The GM is responsible for guiding the work offulltime and parttime employees, staffiring,staff training,evaluations,benefitsdevelopment,andmplementing established KIYUpersonnel policies. Fundraising . The GMis responsible for assuring sufficientfunds are available for station operations through grant writing and reporting, maintaining relationships with granting agencies and organizations,seeking and maintaining sponsorships from local and regional businesses,and fundraising events. Operations . TheGM has and online presenTheGMresponsibleforkeeping KIYUupdatewithchangesandtrendsn technology,media, and public broadcasting. Community Outreach . The GM represents the station to the local community and is responsible forassuringKIYUresponsive to local community needs and concerns. The GM guides station outreach to members, listene

The GM proactively interacts with local businesses, organizations, schools, and government agencies and institutions to articulateKIYU mission, policies, and strategic direction, and to build collaborative relationshipswith these tities. KIYU Board of Directors . In addition to preparing regular financial and station activity reports for the YU Board of Directors, the GM preparesinformationnecessaryfor informed policy decisions by the board, advises theboardonpolicydecisions,andimplementstheboard’s approved policies and strategic plan. Agency d OtherNetworking . The GM serves as the primary communication link to other agencies and organizations involved in publicbroadcasting, represent KIYU’s interests to those agenciesandorganizations, and seekopportunities forollaborationorsharing of resources. QualificationsGeneral Manager Candidates must have the following skills and experience:Stronginterpersonal skillsandtheabilityworkwithwidevarietyofpeopleandinterests,incorporatemanyinterestsandopinionsintodecisionmaking,anddevisesuccessfulcollaborationsDemonstrated ability to effectively manage personnelExperience/ability understand andmanagebudgetand nonprofaccounting,includingrelevant softwareGeneral technicalskilapplicablework
