Why I like it

I come from an undergraduate teaching background, and my students number one excuse was that they forgot.I came by this app and thought, “Really wish I would have had that”.

It’s free and it is a nice way to keep everyone connected

, especially when students are already

on their phones checking text messages or social media

It is fairly easy to set up and get started. Plus it is available for both Android and IPhone users.Slide4

Signing Up

You can either use your phone or a computer to sign up and use Remind.

When you create an account they will send you a code to your phone to confirm your account.Slide5

Signing up

Then you select your role in

using the

app (Parent, Teacher, etc.).

Then you can create a singular class or several.Slide6

Signing UP

It allows you to select a school, create a new school, or to not be associated with one at all.

This is what the home page looks like and where any and all announcements can be made.Slide7

Having people find your class

This was my favorite. They receive a

text message and they could actually do

this

right in your

classroom,

you know they all have a phone. 100% no excuses!

The other way I enjoyed was by providing a link to your classroom. You can also add by phone numbers and email addresses.Slide8

Having students and parents find your class

They can just as easily find you by school or by name.Slide9

Some nice features

I like that you can create

entire class announcements

or

just

focus

on one individual. On the left hand side you can easily create a new class

or

join

another.

This really covers the entire app. It is super straight forward. It is a nice way to keep everyone focused and on the same page

I would use this to announce about a test tomorrow to projects.Slide10

Where does it fall on the samr

model? My opinion it would fall under the modification, because it allows for a significant redesign for reminders.

It allows parents and students to be notified and updated on events and assignments. Plus they can interact between parents, students,

and

teachers.

This allows for needed clarification and questions that may arise. This type of flexibility in messaging and communication in education is fairly new.Slide11
