Our Ability Connect

Fully Utilizing the Talents of all Employees: MHANYS’ workplace educational/training opportunities Slide4

Why this is important?

Approximately 15% of the world’s population—that’s between 110 million and 190 million people—have a disability/challenge that impacts how they manage one or more of their life activities.

For many individuals with disabilities, alternate strengths and talents develop which enhance the ability to contribute within an organization.

Some 71% of disabilities are invisible. They include mental health, sensory, learning, intellectual and attention disabilities.

Roughly 50% of all Americans are affected either directly or indirectly by a disability.Slide5

Unemployment Facts

March 2016:

Labor Force Participation

People with disabilities: 19.9%

People without disabilities: 68.6%

Does Your Company Understand the 7% Utilization Goal?
