The Jan Seva School currently provides educational opportunities and health care initiatives to children and mothers from poverty-stricken areas of Kolkata, India. In January 2016, two students from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health traveled to Kolkata to conduct a needs assessment of Jan Seva and population it serves, in order to evaluate the success of programs to date and to ascertain what new priorities the organization may want to aim for.
