Modifications in 7000 line in view of beam transfer from AD to ELENA
Separation of AD 7000 line and ELENA injection line must be done as fast as possible due to:
Fixed ELENA position in AD hall by many constraints like available space between racks, barracks, and experimental areas (see slide 2). As result, beam from AD has to be brought to the given point.
Simplification of injection line layout
Minimization of ELENA injection septum angle
What should being modified in AD ejection line (7000 line):
place sector valve VVS32 between MWPC7015 and DVT7013
Replace
quadrupoles
DFO7020 and QDE7030 with new more compact ones (built)
Build new combined dipole corrector instead of pair of existing DHZ7042 and DVT7043 (done) and move them upstream
remove proton transformer TFA7044 and MTV7045 from the common part of lines
place current transformer TFA7049 upstream to MWPC7046
Place fast valve VVF7048 upstream to
MWPC7046Make modification in vacuum equipment in this area where it’s needed

Extra quadrupoles
for ELENA injection line
The
quadrupole
placed in between two separating magnets is strong -> will be made in the same way as QFO7020 and QDE7030. They are
quadrupole
with small aperture about 54 mm, baking is not possible
Other 3
quadrupoles
will be the same as for ELENA ring, with possibility for
bakeout
.
