Cameras

Where are they? Here are some examples.Phones, Cameras, CCTV, Laptops, Computers and Tablets.

You are probably carrying one right now.

They were invented in the late 1800’s as a device that captures images and places them on paper. Each image would take quite a while to be finished. First, the actual shooting took about ten minutes, getting the right light so as not to damage the camera. After this, they would be soaked in a tank of water at about a one centimetre-level. After this hour-long process, they would be dried for a further ten minutes. The amount of time involved made photography an art-form, as it would sometimes take as long as a painting.

Nowadays, on a camera, you can take an extremely high-definition photograph in any light form about a centimetre away. You can take photos underwater, in outer space, almost everywhere, even cameras so small you can swallow them with food. Some of them about five millimetres by five millimetres can have a camera, a large memory, and even a radio transmitter. Slide6

Microphones

Microphones are a device which amplifies a voice. On some phones, tablets or other similar devices, you can record things, using a very small microphone. However, the best ones used are in recording studios, or on TV Programs, which are large, and have thousands of receptors.

From the microphone, you can place all manner of recordings into different formats. However, before this, a microphone was used in concerts simply to amplify the voice, and do this alone. From then, however, we have progressed, such as when they were used to record on tape or on vinyl. Slide7

Augmented Reality (A.R)

Augmented Reality, or A.R for short, is a way of seeing fictional CGI characters or information overlapping the reality in your sight. An example of this is when you see a menu in a foreign language, you can hold an Apple device up to it, it will show at an automatic angle and in English, or whichever language it is translating to.

A soon-to-be-released example of A.R is the highly anticipated Google-Glass. These look like basic glasses, though when you meet someone, or see them in the street, Google-Glass will look through websites for their face, and when found will pop up information about them all in a matter of seconds.

The concept of A.R was actually an idea of Frank. L. Baum’s, the author of The Wizard of Oz and it’s 29 sequels. He said that it would be brilliant if you could wear glasses, which showed either information, or fictional characters, such as the flying monkeys, overlapping reality.Slide8

GPS & Location Technology

GPS or Location Technology is a way of navigation. It works by an electronic device beaming and rebounding location signals off many different satellites in the Earth’s atmosphere. If you have a phone, then it shows loosely your area, though you can purchase devices specifically for GPS, which show your exact area, longitude, latitude, and landmarks to help you on your way.Slide9
