September British Taekwondo will no longer be processing Disclosure and Barring Service Checks.
Checks will be moving to a new online system
This will not affect you if you live in Scotland, Ireland or Gibraltar
If you have any purple forms in progress please return these to BT by 31

August, otherwise you will have to start again using the new process
This will be simpler and easier for youSlide2
The Changes
Purple DBS Forms will be replaced by an online registration process
Documentation verification will be carried out by your local Post Office
97% of checks will be back within 10 daysSlide3
Other Changes
Portability is coming ………
If you already have a DBS check, BT maybe able to accept it. It needs to be for a similar type of role with a similar type of organisation
A DBS check carried out by the Lawn Tennis Assoc. for a coaching role would be acceptable, one from a nursery for a nursery worker would not.
You must also have signed up to the Online Update Service for the portability to be accepted
Online Update Service
Remember, you can save money by signing up to the DBS Update service. You need the E number from your application
formbefore
you make your application, or your DBS Certificate number.
You only have 19 days from the issue date of your certificate
It will only take 2 minutes and you never need to fill in another DBS application as long as you renew it every year. It is also cheaper if you pay for your check
