Reflection on the 6 Characteristics of Online learning

By: Charlie HenzeSlide2

What would I Choose

Which class would you choose?

I would choose to be a hybrid learner because I do well when told how to do something, then being able to do independent learning after words. Slide3

Strengths and Weaknesses

Look back at the six characteristics. Which of these are your strengths? Which of these are weaknesses?

I feel that I’m strong when it comes to being computer literate, I work well when independent, I’m self- motivated, and I’m committed. But I’m not very Organized or

Effective

with writing. Slide4

What do I Feel

Do you feel that online learning is a good fit for a student like you? Why or why not?I feel that online learning would not be a very good fit for me, because I tend to enjoy working with friends in person.Slide5

Number One

What does it mean to be self-motivated?

Self-motivation is students that can direct their own learning environment, but still achieve academic success, and fulfill course requirements. Slide6

Number Two

What does it really mean to be independent?

To be independent enables you to learn at your own pace, and relieves the stress pressure can cause.Slide7

Number Three

What does it mean to be computer literate?

To be computer literate is to have knowledge about basic

parts of the Internet, keyboarding, and email. Slide8

Number Four

What does it mean to be Organized? To be organized is to plan their own “best time” to learn. To be able to say “*Ok let’s start to learn.” without someone else telling you to.

*( Not exact words of someone who is ready to start.)Slide9

Number Five

What does it mean to be an effective writer?

To be an effective writer is to be able to use email to contact fellow students and/or your instructor(s).Slide10

Number Six

What does it mean to be committed?

To be committed is to be able to make yourself go and learn because there are no School bells.Slide11

Conclusion

In conclusion I do not feel that I would be able to do my very best if I were to be an online learner. Although there are many different opinions on this topic, I have decided this because I’m not able to just say “let’s start learning.” But rather set it aside for later.
