A valid certification in first aid.Proof of training in the prevention of infectious disease, including immunizations. A statement signed by a licensed physician or his or her designee that attests to the individual’s mental and physical health. A signed and dated written statement indicating the following: a) The individual is aware that abuse and neglect of children is against the law. b) The individual has been informed of the center’s policies on child abuse and neglect. c) The individual knows that all staff and volunteers are required by law to immediately report suspected abuse and neglect to children’s protective services.Provide written evidence of freedom from communicable tuberculosis (TB).Complete the safe sleep practices training to prevent sudden infant death syndrome. www.MiRegistry.orgComplete the recognition of and the reporting of child abuse and neglect training.Complete the prevention of shaken baby syndrome, abusive head trauma, and child maltreatment training.All newly hired child care assistants should complete the following before working with children:A statement signed by a licensed physician or his or her designee that attests to the individual’s mental and physical health.
