In terms of employment it refers to someone providing information and comments about your work ethic. Is a letter of introduction attached to, or accompanying another document such as a résumé or curriculum vitae (CV)Covering LetterStructure

7. Application FormsYou will need to make applications to 6th Forms, colleges, training, apprenticeships, employers both in the near future and further ahead. Many employers now expect you to fill out an application form online. If you have to do this, have your CV to hand. Online applications can get ‘timed-out’ so you need to be prepared. Before you click and ‘send’, take a copy- either print one or save it to your computer, so that you can use it to prepare if you are offered an interview.

8. Structure- What to Include?TaskDiscuss with the person sat next to you what areas you think you have top write about in an application form? What document would be helpful when completing application forms? Feedback your answers to the class

12. When completing Application Forms I must remember…Task In your exercise books Look at the list below and make notes on what you should remember when completing an application Form.Read the whole application form before completing it. Photocopy the form and do a practice run and then ask someone to check it. 13. Covering LettersYou would usually send a covering letter with your CV to an employer. The purpose of the covering letter is to outline what you are applying for and your current situation.
