Look carefully at your ruler and make sure you can see the millimetres (mm) and centimetres (cm). How many millimetres in a centimetre? What would you measure in millimetres?

3. Remember these rules from yesterday: Rulers show millimetres and centimetres. We always start on 0 – zero or nought.Make sure you mark the part of the line which you are measuring. Measure the line between your marks. The line will not always be exactly on the centimetre mark.Look at your ruler and count the millimetres from 0 to 1. This means that we have 10 millimetres or 1 centimetre. 1 millimetre will be 1/10 of a centimetre.We can write this by using the decimal point. Do you remember how? 0.1

5. Measuring in millimetresWe can use the millimetre side of the ruler to measure in millimetres. How long is this line? 54mmWe can also measure shapes. Move the ruler around the shape and measure each line. Write the measurement next to each line. Remember to show the unit of measurement
