As a breeding dog, #251
lived 7 years of her life,
in a small wire cage, with no human contact and no vet care.
She was
never
taken outside of her cage.

LilyNational Mill Dog Rescue
was inspired by #251, named Lily. Theresa Strader rescued Lily from an auction in Missouri and founded NMDR in February 2007 in her honor.

Humble BeginningsNMDR was initially located at Theresa & Rich Strader’s family home in Black Forest.

And only two years later…NMDR moved to a new facility in Peyton, Colorado.

NMDR Mission Statement To rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home discarded breeding dogs and to educate the general public about the cruel realities of the commercial dog breeding industry.11
