designed to help users learn to speak the language. Developed by Speaking Pal Ltd., the award winning mobile app is simple to use and works on all iOS devices with 4.0 or higher.SpeakingPal
helps users learn English by listening to their speaking skills. The app presents users with light-hearted and humorous dialogue videos and then users speak directly into their iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.

The dialogue situations range from an interview and hotel reservation to a doctor appointment. The wide range of every day situations makes this app extremely useful. All the lessons are less than 2 minutes, so users can fill their day with numerous situations. The best feature about this app is the review screen at the end of the lesson, which lets users hear the native speaker and their voice recording so they can practice and improve their English skills. In addition to the review screen, users are also evaluated via color-coded scoring to help them improve.
The app is designed to work in both landscape and portrait modes so users can hold it in their favorite position. While the app looks great on the iPhone, the developers could utilize more of the iPad’s larger screen by increasing the size of the videos or even the dialogue options.

There are a couple of other minor issues with
SpeakingPal
. The first is that it isn’t completely free. Users receive a one month trial to use the app, but then they must subscribe to it via an IAP package. The prices range from $0.99 to $14.99, depending on how much content users wish to download. The other issue is that users must download the dialogue packs before they can use them, so access to the internet or mobile network is required for new sessions.
