Autoclave hazards range from physical hazards, such as heat, steam and pressure, to biological hazards, such as improperly autoclaved infectious material. Individual labs must train new users on the safe usage of autoclaves.Before use:Check that autoclave is clear of any items left from previous use.Check that door gaskets have not deterioratedLoadingLoad as per manufacturers instructions.Make sure door is properly closed and latched.Unloading Wear proper PPE!Open the door slowly while keeping head, face and hands away from the opening.
