What the LDS is:
The LDS is….
A collection of longitudinal data from various sources that can be used to create reports all in one place.
Won’t need to go to multiple systems to get data.
A reporting tool to help teachers, counselors, and administrators get the data they need to make their jobs easier.
A leading indicator of student risk factors.Slide3
How can I use the LDS?
Identify
at-risk students based on a variety of measures.
Identify
areas of academic strengths and needs.
Look
up historical test score data (H.S.A., ACT, SAT, etc
…).
Look up historical school performance on various measures.
Look up student grades, graduation requirements, attendance, behavior, and transcripts.Slide4
What the LDS is not:
The LDS is not the official system for high stakes or accountability data.
Please see Strive HI,
eCSSS
, or other source data for high stakes or accountability data.
The LDS is not transactional – you cannot enter or change data in it.Slide5

What about the metrics?
How does the LDS calculate risk factors, and where does the data come from?
For a full explanation and examples, please see Teacher Dashboard User Guide in Help section.Slide41
Attendance Metric
Attendance data comes from
eSIS
How is percentage calculated?
Percent attendance = (sum of full day and half day present attendance x 100)/(sum of total number of possible days for each active student)
Present is calculated as attending more than half of the periods in a day.
Excused and unexcused absences are treated as absencesSlide42
