Steps to Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
1. Create an account on VT OPR and submit application and 100$ non-refundable fee
2. Have official transcripts sent from school where you obtained masters or doctorate degree (must be accredited by CSWE)
3. Take ASWB master's level examination and have scores submitted to OPR
4. Complete and pass VT Jurisprudence exam and submit to OPRSlide5
Step One: Submit Application
Create an account on VT OPR: Online Licensing, by clicking “Register”, or login to existing accountSlide6
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll click on “Apply for individual license” under the License tab.
Select Social Work as the profession and then the LMSW license and work through the application, submit 100$ application fee.Slide7
Step Two: Obtain Official Transcripts
Request that your official transcript from your Masters or Doctorate program be forwarded to OPR:

Step Three: Take ExamAfter submitting the application, you will be sent information about scheduling the ASWB Master’s Level ExamSuccessfully pass this exam and have the scores sent to OPRSlide9
Step Four: Jurisprudence Exam
Complete and the 20 question Jurisprudence Exam, found at:

Return the answer key to OPR to be scored, if you have more than 6 incorrect answers, you will need to complete again and re-submitSlide10
Steps to Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
1. Create an account on VT OPR and submit application and 100$ non-refundable fee
2. If applicable, have state where you've previously been licensed send in the "Verification of Licensure" form
3. Have official transcripts sent from school where you obtained masters or doctorate degree (must be accredited by CSWE)4. Complete and pass VT Jurisprudence exam and submit to OPR5. Take ASWB clinical level examination and have scores submitted to OPR6. Have supervisor complete "Supervision Report" form and "Verification of Supervisor Licensure"-must have 3,000 supervised hoursSlide11

After completing 3,000 supervised hours in a minimum of two years

**These hours do not need to be completed prior to taking the exam**
