According to 4th Year Medical Student Jared Aida:
Some of my favorite things about the ATSU- North Country Community Campus are the people! Time and time again, you'll hear that the people you work with will be the difference between you dreading to go to work and being excited to go to work each morning. The people that I've met while at North Country have been fantastic and helpful. The support they provide is second to none--academically, financially, and emotionally. It is a laid-back atmosphere, but still professional. The RDME's are approachable, kind, and masterful teachers--they love what they do and they do it for the right reasons. They want to be here and do all they can to help us succeed. I've loved my experience thus far.Slide23
According to 4
th Year Medical Student Alex Phan:
My 2nd year in Flagstaff was great in terms of the didactic and clinical experience. Our RDME, Dr. Bansal, took the time and effort to prepare us well for our tests. She even did some reviewing for the boards and valued our input for improving the curriculum there. Furthermore, the location of the CHC was very convenient, well within walking distance for some classmates.
The knowledge and skills I developed in Flagstaff have been valuable during my 3rd year so far. I am currently rotating in Show Low, mainly at Summit Regional Medical Center. The staff there is quite supportive in the continuation of my education. Summit also takes good care of students, providing free food and access to various areas of the hospital with just a scan of our badges.Slide24
According to 4th Year Medical Student Brian Goodman:
There are too many things that I appreciate at North Country HealthCare to list but a few that should be highlighted include the following: 1) Leadership and staff at NCHC are amazing. When you are in the clinic the MA's and preceptors are top notch. Everyone one, without exception, was very supportive of my education and was willing to help me learn. The quality of the SOMA faculty and staff at North Country are unmatched and go far beyond what is expected to make sure we are receiving high quality education in an efficient manner.
2) Living in Flagstaff is a wonderful experience. The community is very active and there are countless community events and outdoor activities. Our family enjoyed hiking and exploring the trails of Northern AZ.Slide25
These are a few of my favorite things
Class of 2013 Graduate Angela Thurston, DO
LOVES Flagstaff because…
1. People are genuinely friendly2. The air is clean to breathe3. The water out of the faucet actually tastes good
4. A full moon reflecting off fresh snow in the middle of a still night, illuminates the San Francisco peaks breathtakingly 5. The town is very mellow, jeans are practically business casual here
6. Downtown has all sorts of fun restaurants, bars and shops7. You can hike, bike, run, snowboard, ski and on and on without driving an hour to a trailhead8. Dr. Seby and Dr. Bansal will put a lot into your education
9. North Country Community Health Center ROCKS!!! Slide26
