Hereditary Breast/Ovarian Cancer Referral Guidelines Relatives should be on the same side of the family (first-degree relatives) ie. Parents, sibs, children (second-degree relatives) ie. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, grandchildren er, ovarian cancer can be referred to the Familial Clinic for specific ethnic BRCA1/2 mutation testing General Recommendations Level 4 Relatives of individuals with a known BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation Referral to Familial Clinic: ge Level 2 Family history of breast cancer in 3 or more FDR or SDR, Family history of breast cancer in 2 FDR or SDR, 50 years Individual with breast AND ovarian cancer Family history of male breast cancer AND female breast cancer, at any age Level 0 Individuals anxious about a hereditary risk for cancer Referral to Familial Clinic: Personalized cancer risk assessment
