2. Perfect Pitch Competition GoalsProblem: How do we encourage students to be better communicators? Objective: Use “Hall of Fame” approach to cross pollinate a culture of strong oral communication and public speaking.Teach students to be concise and persuasive Stress importance of oral communication and public speaking Stimulate students to think about the bigger picture and application areas Stimulate good performance under pressure Stimulate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship Cross-pollinate student entrepreneurial experiences between centers Empower students to lead

3. Perfect Pitch Competition OverviewContestants in the ERC Perfect Pitch Contest will pitch a problem or opportunity connected with their ERC’s strategic vision in a clear, compelling manner in 90 seconds. 4. Judging CriteriaProblem StatementAbility to give a compelling statement of the problem – is it clear and concise? Proposed SolutionExhibiting clear expertise in how the solution connects to the problemBroader ImpactClear, compelling description of benefits – does this improve health and well-being? Does it provide financial or economic gains? Call to ActionDoes the pitch stoke curiosity and interest in the audience, or want them to get started learning more? Visual AnchorDoes the visual anchor complement the pitch, and is it visually engaging and informative?
