We

have had talks with Council

staff in general terms and identified the Peninsula Leisure Centre (PLC).Installing a large PV system on the roof of the

PLC

is an ideal project for the following reasons:This would be a high visibility project Excellent potential to demonstrate Council’s engagement with the communityRepresents high energy usage, with maximum demand during the day

The building was purpose built for PV, but it was not installed due to budget constraintsOther options for consideration:Incorporate a solar roof into the specifications of the new Woy Woy Grandstand Solar installations on waste treatment facilities

Identified project

Install

a 100kW system on the roof of the PLC,

which would feed in behind the meter

Seek

the Councillors’ support to continue discussions with relevant Council staffFurther detailed discussions and exchange of information required to determine the feasibility and cost benefits Develop triple bottom line assessmentWith information of the building’s energy usage

the financial benefits to Council can be modelled
