The Meditation:
PASTOR: Lord, we hear the stories or see so many pictures of hungry children with swollen tummies and lonely faces – it overwhelms us. That 12,000 will die today simply due to lack of food, another 8,000 will die from preventable childhood diseases, is unthinkable.
PEOPLE: We confess that such things seem so far away that we have rationalized our way out of responsible action.
PASTOR:
Today Lord, we confess, we are not only responsible for those far away but also for those close to home. Help us to act.
PEOPLE:
Lord, I don’t want to be a passive, silent Christian. Show me what to do. Direct me onto the turf of some harvest field. Let me dirty my hands. I give you permission to break my heart. Let my tears flow in prayer, not over my own woes, but over the pain of others. I have been still too long. Silent too frequently. Let me lift my voice in prayer – it is the first step. Fill my hands with tools. Send me into your harvest.

darkness has prevailed over the land of the Shaikh for many centuries. The real struggle is unseen. Much, much prayer is needed.Pray that God will go before us, revealing himself supernaturally through dreams and visions, opening hearts and doors.
Pray
for their physical and spiritual
protection of the few believers among the Shaikh.
Pray they will be lights reflecting the goodness of Christ in a dark land.
Pray
for the Shaikh people to increasingly be drawn to Isa (Jesus) as they read the Koran. Pray for release from spiritual bondage that has hung heavily over Bangladesh for centuries.
