Some facts of Stubby
The amazement of Stubby is that he was the first war dog of World War 1.
He learned the bugle calls, drills and how to salute with his right paw.Slide5Helping Soldiers
Stubby would listen for
the
soldiers and he would bark
until
the paramedics
arrived or
he would lead
the lost soldiers
back to safety. Slide6
Stubby had been in seventeen battles at the end of the war.

The Heroic Dog
The people loved the brave little dog and he was a special kind of dog.Slide8

e barked till the soldier woke.
And he stopped people from doing drugs.Slide10
When the division was attacked in an early morning gas launch, most of the soldiers
were asleep
but Stubby
recognized the gas and ran through the trench barking and biting at the soldiers, rousing them to sound the gas alarm.
He was the bravest stray alive.
The injury left
Stubby
sensitive to the tiniest trace of
gas. He went to the hospital to visit the injured soldiers

This is stubby’s grave.
I give respect to Stubby the brindle dog.
The grave said Sergeant Stubby Hero Dog of WW1, a brave stray.
He died in 1926.
