First paragraph of Stubby.

Private J. Robert found a brindle puppy and he called the brindle puppy Stubby because of his short tail.Slide3

I believe in Stubby.

Stubby became

the mascot of the

102

nd

Infantry

, 26th Yankee Division.Slide4

Some facts of Stubby

The amazement of Stubby is that he was the first war dog of World War 1.

He learned the bugle calls, drills and how to salute with his right paw.Slide5
Helping Soldiers

Stubby would listen for

the

soldiers and he would bark

until

the paramedics

arrived or

he would lead

the lost soldiers

back to safety. Slide6

Stubby had been in seventeen battles at the end of the war.

Private

C

onroy smuggled Stubby on to the

SS

Minnesota. Private J. hid Stubby in the coal bin.Slide7

The Heroic Dog

The people loved the brave little dog and he was a special kind of dog.Slide8

Stubby as a young dog sitting on the field.

Stubby is watching the army men getting ready for the war.Slide9

The reason why they love him.

H

e barked till the soldier woke.

And he stopped people from doing drugs.Slide10

When the division was attacked in an early morning gas launch, most of the soldiers

were asleep

but Stubby

recognized the gas and ran through the trench barking and biting at the soldiers, rousing them to sound the gas alarm.

He was the bravest stray alive.

The injury left

Stubby

sensitive to the tiniest trace of

gas. He went to the hospital to visit the injured soldiers

.Slide11

The last paragraph of stubby
