Weekday Drop - Offs are by appointment onl y betwee n 9am - 4: 30pm call 734 - 222 - 3950 . Saturday Collection Events are on the first three Sa t urdays of th e month from April through November from 9am - Noon. Closed on County Observed Holidays. Th is p rogram is free of cost for Washt enaw County Residents; however , it is not tax funded, donations are encouraged to assist wit h disposal costs. Accepted Materials at the Toxics Center are: Acids & bases, aerosol cans, a sphalt/roofing ta r, autom otive fl ui ds, batteries (automotive and household) cell phones, tablets, cle aners, polishes, cooking oil (liquid), fertilizers , fire extinguishers, fluoresc ent bulbs (compact/coil & tubes up to 4 ft.), gasoline/diesel, glues, kerosene, m ercury, mothballs, motor oil, nail po lish & remover, paints (latex, oil, & spray), pestic ides, poisons, photograp hy chemicals, pool chemicals, propane/ butane tanks (up to 20 p ounds), solvents, stains/varnishes , sharps (medical needles, in app roved containers), smoke/CO detectors, wood preservatives. **list subject to change.
