1.YourLegalRightsUnderTheseLimitedWarrantiesThewarrantiescontainedinthisbookletaretheonlyexpresswarrantiesthatChryslerGroupLLC(makesforyourvehicle.Thesewarrantiesgiveyouspecificlegalrights.Youmayalsohaveotherrightsthatvaryfromstatetostate.Forexample,youmayhavesomeimpliedwarranties,dependingonthestatewhereyourvehiclewassoldorisregistered.Theseimpliedwarrantiesarelimited,totheextentallowedbylaw,tothetimeperiodscoveredbytheexpresswrittenwarrantiescontainedinthisbooklet.Ifyouuseyourvehicleprimarilyforbusinessorcommercialpurposes,thentheseimpliedwarrantiesdonotapplyandChryslercompletelydisclaimsthemtotheextentallowedbylaw.Andtheimpliedwarrantyoffitnessforaparticularpurposedoesnotapplyifyourvehicleisusedforracing,evenifthevehicleisequippedforracing.Somestatesdonotallowlimitationsonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sotheabovelimitationsmaynotapplytoyou.1.1IncidentalandConsequentialDamagesNotCoveredYourwarrantiesdon’tcoveranyincidentalorconse-quentialdamagesconnectedwithyourvehicle’sfail-ure,eitherwhileunderwarrantyorafterward.Examplesofsuchdamagesinclude:losttime;thelossoftheuseofyourvehicle;thecostofrentalvehicles,gasoline,telephone,travel,orlodging;thelossofpersonalorcommercialproperty;andthelossofrevenue.Somestatesdon’tallowincidentalorconsequentialdamagestobeexcludedorlimited,sothisexclusionmaynotapplytoyou.YOURLEGALRIGHTSUNDERTHESELIMITEDWARRANTIES 2.What’sCoveredUnderChryslerGroupLLC’sWarranties2.1BasicLimitedWarrantyA.WhoIsCovered?YouarecoveredbytheBasicLimitedWarrantyifyouareapurchaserforuseofthevehicle.B.What’sCoveredTheBasicLimitedWarrantycoversthecostofallpartsandlaborneededtorepairanyitemonyourvehiclewhenitleftthemanufacturingplantthatisdefectiveinmaterial,workmanshiporfactorypreparation.ThereisnolistofcoveredpartssincetheonlyexceptionaretiresandUnwiredheadphones.Youpaynothingfortheserepairs.Thesewarrantyrepairsoradjustments—includ-ingallpartsandlaborconnectedwiththem—willbemadebyyourdealeratnocharge,usingneworremanu-facturedparts.C.ItemsCoveredbyOtherWarrantiesThefollowingarecoveredbyseparatewarrantiesofferedbytheirmakers.TheyarenotcoveredbytheBasicLimitedWarranty:Unwiredheadphones;oritemsaddedorchangedafteryourvehicleleftthemanufacturingplant,suchasaccessoriesorprotectionproducts,oritemschangedbecauseofcustomizationorvanconversion.WHAT’SCOVEREDUNDERCHRYSLERGROUPLLC’SWARRANTIES Besureyougetacopyofanywarrantythatappliestotheseitemsfromyourdealer,orfromthemakeroftheproduct.YoucanfindthetireandUnwiredheadphonewarrantystatementsinyourOwner’sLiteraturePackage.D.TowingCostsAreCoveredUnderCertainTheRoadsideAssistancecoversthecostoftowingyourvehicletothenearestChrysler,Dodge,Jeep,orRamdealerifyourvehiclebecomesdisabledasaresultofamechanicalbreakdown.Ifyouchoosetogotoanotherdealership,youwillberesponsibleforthecostiftheextradistanceexceeds10miles.SeeSection6.2forinformationonhowtogettowingserviceintheUnitedStatesandCanada.E.WhenItBeginsTheBasicLimitedWarrantybeginsoneitherofthefollowingdates,whicheverisearlier:thedateyoutakedeliveryofthevehicle;orthedatewhenthevehiclewasfirstputintoservice—forexample,asadealer“demo”orasaChryslercompanyvehicle.WHAT’SCOVEREDUNDERCHRYSLERGROUPLLC’SWARRANTIES F.WhenItEndsTheBasicLimitedWarrantylastsfor36monthsfromthedateitbeginsorfor36,000milesontheodometer,whicheveroccursfirst.Butthefollowingitemsarecoveredonlyfor12monthsorfor12,000milesontheodometer,whicheveroccursfirst:brakes(rotors,pads,linings,anddrums);wiperblades;clutchdiscsormodularclutchassembly(aswindshieldandrearwindow;andwheelalignmentandwheelbalancingG.RegistrationandOperationRequirementsTheBasicLimitedWarrantycoversyourvehicleonlyif:itwasbuiltforsaleintheU.S.;it’sregisteredintheU.S.;it’sdrivenmainlyintheU.S.orCanada;andit’soperatedandmaintainedinthemannerdescribedinyourOwner’sManual.WHAT’SCOVEREDUNDERCHRYSLERGROUPLLC’SWARRANTIES H.IfYourVehicleLeavestheUnitedStates(WeIncludeU.S.PossessionsandTerritoriesasPartoftheUnitedStatesforWarrantyEXCEPTWHERESPECIFICALLYREQUIREDBYLAW,THEREISNOWARRANTYCOVERAGEONTHISVEHICLEIFITISSOLDINORREGISTEREDINCOUNTRIESOTHERTHANTHEUNITEDSTATES.ThispolicydoesnotapplytovehiclesthathavereceivedauthorizationforexportfromChrysler.Dealersmaynotgiveauthorizationforexport.Youshouldconsultanauthorizeddealertodeterminethisvehicle’swarrantycoverageifyouhaveanyques-ThispolicydoesnotapplytovehiclesregisteredtoU.S.governmentofficialsormilitarypersonnelonassignmentoutsideoftheUnitedStates.2.2CorrosionWarrantyA.WhoIsCovered?YouarecoveredifyouareapurchaserforuseoftheB.What’sCoveredThiswarrantycoversthecostofallpartsandlaborneededtorepairorreplaceanysheetmetalpanelsthatgetholesfromrustorothercorrosion.Ifaholeoccursbecauseofsomethingotherthancorrosion,thiswarrantydoesnotapply.Cosmeticorsurfacecorrosion—result-ing,forexample,fromstonechipsorscratchesinthepaint—isnotcovered.Formoredetailsonwhatisn’tcoveredbythiswarranty,see3.5.WHAT’SCOVEREDUNDERCHRYSLERGROUPLLC’SWARRANTIES C.HowLongItLastsTheCorrosionWarrantystartswhenyourBasicLimitedWarrantybeginsunder2.1(E).Thiswarrantyhastwotime-and-mileagelimits:Forsheetmetalpanels,thelimitis36months,withnomileagelimit.Foranouter-bodysheetmetalpanel—onethatisfinish-paintedandthatsomeonecanseewhenwalk-ingaroundthevehicle—thelimitsare5yearsor100,000milesontheodometer,whicheveroccurs2.3RestraintSystemLimitedWarranty(VehiclessoldandregisteredintheStateofKansasonly)ForvehiclessoldandregisteredintheStateofKansas,seatbeltsandrelatedseatbeltcomponentsarewarrantedagainstdefectsinworkmanshipandmaterialsfor10years,regardlessofmileage.Thiswarrantydoesnotcoverreplacementofseatbeltsandrelatedcomponentsrequiredastheresultofcollision.2.4PowertrainLimitedWarrantyA.WhoIsCovered?YouarecoveredbythePowertrainLimitedWarrantyifyouareapurchaserforuseofthevehicle.B.What’sCoveredThePowertrainLimitedWarrantycoversthecostofallpartsandlaborneededtorepairapowertraincomponentlistedinsection2.4.Ebelowthatisdefectiveinwork-manshipandmaterials.WHAT’SCOVEREDUNDERCHRYSLERGROUPLLC’SWARRANTIES 3.What’sNotCovered3.1ModificationsNotCoveredA.SomeModificationsDon’tVoidtheWarrantiesButAren’tCoveredCertainchangesthatyoumightmaketoyourvehicledonot,bythemselves,voidthewarrantiesdescribedinthisbooklet.Examplesofsomeofthesechangesare:installingnon-ChryslerGroupLLC()parts,components,orequipment(suchasanon-Chryslerradioorspeedcontrol);andusingspecialnon-Chryslermaterialsoradditives.Butyourwarrantiesdon’tcoveranypartthatwasnotonyourvehiclewhenitleftthemanufacturingplantorisnotcertifiedforuseonyourvehicle.Nordotheycoverthecostsofanyrepairsoradjustmentsthatmightbecausedorneededbecauseoftheinstallationoruseofnon-Chryslerparts,components,equipment,materials,oradditives.Performanceorracingpartsareconsideredtobenon-Chryslerparts.Repairsoradjustmentscausedbytheirusearenotcoveredunderyourwarranties.Examplesofthetypesofalterationsnotcoveredare:installingaccessories—exceptforgenuineChrysler/MOPARaccessoriesinstalledbyanauthorizedChrysler,Dodge,JeeporRamdealer;applyingrustproofingorotherprotectionproducts;changingthevehicle’sconfigurationordimensions,suchasconvertingthevehicleintoalimousineorfoodservicevehicle;orusinganyrefrigerantthatChryslerhasnotapproved.WHAT’SNOTCOVERED 13 B.ModificationsThatWILLVoidYourWarrantiesTheseactionswillvoidyourwarranties:disconnecting,tamperingwith,oralteringtheodom-eterwillvoidyourwarranties,unlessyourrepairingtechnicianfollowsthelegalrequirementsforrepairingorreplacingodometers;orattachinganydevicethatdisconnectstheodometerwillalsovoidyourwarranties.3.2EnvironmentalFactorsNotCoveredYourwarrantiesdon’tcoverdamagecausedbyenviron-mentalfactorssuchasairbornefallout,birddroppings,insectdamage,chemicals,treesap,salt,oceanspray,acidrain,androadhazards.Nordoyourwarrantiescoverdamagecausedbyhailstorms,windstorms,torna-does,sandstorms,lightning,floods,andearthquakes.Yourwarrantiesdonotcoverconditionsresultingfromanythingimpactingthevehicle.Thisincludescracksandchipsinglass,scratchesandchipsinpaintedsurfaces,ordamagefromcollision.WHAT’SNOTCOVERED 3.3MaintenanceCostsNotCoveredYourwarrantiesdon’tcoverthecostsofrepairingdamagecausedbypoororimpropermaintenance.Nordotheycoverdamagecausedbytheuseofcontaminatedfuels,orbytheuseoffuels,oils,lubricants,cleanersorfluidsotherthanthoserecommendedinyourOwner’sThewarrantiesdon’tcoverthecostsofyourvehicle’snormalorscheduledmaintenance—thepartsandservicesthatallvehiclesroutinelyneed.Someofthesepartsandservices,whichyourwarrantiesdon’tcover,enginetune-ups;replacingfilters,coolant,sparkplugs,bulbs,orfuses(unlessthosecostsresultfromacoveredrepair);cleaningandpolishing;andreplacingwornwiperblades,wornbrakepadsandlinings,orclutchlinings.3.4RacingNotCoveredYourwarrantiesdon’tcoverthecostsofrepairingdamageorconditionscausedbyracing,nordotheycovertherepairofanydefectsthatarefoundastheresultofparticipatinginaracingevent.3.5CertainKindsofCorrosionNotYourwarrantiesdon’tcoverthefollowing:corrosioncausedbyaccident,damage,abuse,orvehiclealteration;surfacecorrosioncausedbysuchthingsasindustrialfallout,sand,salt,hail,oceanspray,andstones;WHAT’SNOTCOVERED 15 corrosioncausedbytheextensiveorabnormaltrans-portofcausticmaterialslikechemicals,acids,andfertilizers;andcorrosionofspecialbodies,bodyconversions,orequipmentthatwasnotonyourvehiclewhenitleftthemanufacturingplantorwasnotsuppliedbyChrysler.3.6OtherExclusionsYourwarrantiesdon’tcoverthecostsofrepairingdamageorconditionscausedbyanyofthefollowing:fireoraccident;abuseornegligence;misuse—forexample,drivingovercurbsorover-tamperingwiththeemissionsystems,orwithapartthatcouldaffecttheemissionsystems;useofusedparts,eveniftheywereoriginallysup-pliedbyChrysler(however,authorizedChrysler/MOPARremanufacturedpartsarecovered);windshieldorrearwindowdamagefromexternalanychangesmadetoyourvehiclethatdon’tcomplywithChrysler;orusinganyfluidthatdoesn’tmeettheminimumrecommendationsinyourOwner’sManual.WHAT’SNOTCOVERED 3.7TotalLoss,Salvage,Junk,orScrapVehiclesNotCoveredAvehiclehasnowarrantycoverageofanykindif:thevehicleisdeclaredtobeatotallossbyaninsurancecompany;thevehicleisrebuiltafterbeingdeclaredtobeatotallossbyaninsurancecompany;orthevehicleisissuedacertificateoftitleindicatingthatitisdesignatedas“salvage,”“junk,”“rebuilt,”“scrap,”orsomesimilarword.Chryslerwilldenywarrantycoveragewithoutnoticeifitlearnsthatavehicleisineligibleforcoverageforanyofthesereasons.3.8RestrictedWarrantyYourwarrantiescanalsoberestrictedbyChrysler.Chryslermayrestrictthewarrantyonyourvehicleifthevehicleisnotproperlymaintained,orifthevehicleisabusedorneglected,andtheabuseorneglectinterfereswiththeproperfunctioningofthevehicle.Ifthewar-rantyisrestricted,coveragemaybedeniedorsubjecttoapprovalbyChryslerbeforecoveredrepairsareWHAT’SNOTCOVERED 17 4.OtherTermsofYourWarranties4.1ExchangedPartsMayBeUsedinWarrantyRepairsIntheinterestofcustomersatisfaction,ChryslerGroupLLC()mayofferexchangeserviceonsomevehicleparts.Thisserviceisintendedtoreducetheamountoftimeyourvehicleisnotavailableforyourusebecauseofrepairs.Partsusedinexchangeservicemaybenew,remanufactured,reconditioned,orrepaired,dependingonthepartinvolved.AllexchangepartsthatmightbeusedmeetChryslerstandards,andhavethesamewarrantiesasnewparts.Examplesofthekindsofpartsthatmightbeservicedinthiswayare:engineassemblies;transmissionassemblies;instrumentclusterassemblies;radios,tape,CDandDVDplayers;speedometers;andpowertraincontrolmodules.Tohelpcontrolsuspectedozone-depletingagents,theEPArequiresthecapture,purification,andreuseofautomotiveair-conditioningrefrigerantgases.Asare-sult,arepairtothesealedportionofyourair-conditioningsystemmayinvolvetheinstallationofpurifiedreclaimedrefrigerant.OTHERTERMSOFYOURWARRANTIES 4.2Pre-DeliveryServiceAdefectinordamagetothemechanical,electrical,sheet-metal,paint,trim,andothercomponentsofyourvehiclemayhaveoccurredatthefactoryorwhileitwasbeingshippedtothedealer.Suchadefectordamageisusuallydetectedandcorrectedatthefactory.Inaddition,dealersmustinspecteachvehiclebeforedelivery.Theyrepairanydefectsordamagedetectedbeforethevehicleisdeliveredtoyou.4.3ProductionChangesChangesmaybemadeinvehiclessoldbyChrysleranditsdealersatanytimewithoutincurringanyobligationtomakethesameorsimilarchangesonvehiclespreviouslybuiltorsold.OTHERTERMSOFYOURWARRANTIES 5.EmissionWarrantiesRequiredByLaw5.1FederalEmissionWarrantyA.PartsCoveredfor2Yearsor24,000MilesFederallawrequiresChryslerGroupLLC()towarrantthefollowingemissionspartsfor2yearsor24,000miles,whicheveroccursfirst.ChryslercoversallofthesepartsundertheBasicLimitedWarrantyfor3yearsor36,000miles,whicheveroccursfirst.Airsystemcontrols;distributoranditscomponents;electronicfuelinjectionsystem,includinginjector;evaporative-emissioncanisterandcontrols;exhaustmanifold;exhaustgasrecirculationvalveandcontrolsystem;exhaustpipes(betweenexhaustmanifoldandcata-fuelcapandtankassembly,pump,andfuellines;ignitioncoilandignitionmodule;intakemanifold;on-boarddiagnostic-systemcomponents;oxygensensors;positivecrankcase-ventilation(PCV)valveororifice;secondaryignitionwires;sparkplugs;EMISSIONWARRANTIESREQUIREDBYLAW throttlebody;transmission-controlmodule;vacuumhoses,clamps,andfittings,aswellastubingusedforthesecomponents;vacuum,temperature,altitude,speed,time-sensitivevalves,sensors,andswitchesusedinthesecompo-nentsandsystems.B.PartsCoveredfor8yearsor80,000milesIfyourvehiclehasoneofthefollowingparts,thisFederalEmissionWarrantycoversthatpartforaperiodof8yearsor80,000miles,whicheveroccursfirst,calculatedfromthestartoftheBasicLimitedWarrantyassetforthinSection2.1(E).Thecoveredpartsare:catalyticconverter;andpowertraincontrolmodule.EMISSIONWARRANTIESREQUIREDBYLAW 21
