What is Mantra?.....

The word Mantra has two parts;One being MAN, which is the root of the Sanskrit word for mind. (sanskrit means sounds of a language which are pieces of sound that have exactly one vowel.)Secondly; TRA which is the root of the word instrument.Together they mean an instrument of the mind.A mantra is a powerful sound or vibration that you may use to enter a deep state of meditation.

Why chant mantra silently?...

Powerful way to enter the silence of the mind.

When repeated it creates a mental vibration that allows the mind to experience deeper levels of awareness.

Helps to disconnect from thoughts filling your mind so that you slip into the gap between thoughts.

Is a tool to support your meditation practice.

Helps to connect to the spirit, the source of everything in the universe.

Why do we use different mantras & does the pronunciation matter?...

Induces specific vibrations in the mind.

In some spiritual traditions the pronunciation does matter.

On a non-local level of intelligence it does not matter.
