What

are we trying to accomplish?

Gundersen Health System abides by long-established policies regarding surgical attire: scrubs, hair covering, shoes/shoe covers, jewelry, etc. We need to make every effort to live up to our own standards.

Why is it important?

Our policies are based on the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and Infection Control guidelines. These guidelines are being more clearly defined by a multidisciplinary group and will be implemented and hardwired into practice

.

What will success look like?

Staff will follow policies and guidelines established by Gundersen Health System regarding proper attire and personal hygiene in restricted and semi-restricted areas within Surgery

&

Procedures,

including Labor & Delivery. Slide5
