F1 UK OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2017 UKSTOCKCARS F1 First Championship of 2017 ARENA ESSEX – 24th May 2017 – 16 Cars With the 16 car grid not being closed up, the "Championship" was run as just another normal gridded final. Could Cozy #522 capitalize on this grid and make the break needed? Could the Superstars finally break through and dominate the podium? The grid was formed and Cozy led them away and into an early lead. Drivers jostled within their grades in the opening laps, whilst at the back the "Clash of the Titans" was entering its third instalment. Davey #1 and Martin #400 launched each other putting an end to their chances in the opening laps. Chevy #316 and Counter #255 benefited and were away, already amongst the mid pack. The mid pack consisted of 9 cars and as they were bunched tightly together something had to give, and that something was JB #2!JB hit the inner log launching himself uncontrollably at the cars entering the corner. Macca #3, Ashley #492 and Simon #285 all went to the fence with JB, allowing Counter to slip by them all unnoticed. Just ahead and fortunate to miss the flying JB, was Phil #17, Chevy #316, Ric #145 and Iron #288 with Mav #85 who had just been punted wide by Chevy. Max #160 was 1/4 of a lap ahead who was chasing a flying Cozy. Lap 6 and Chevy was on the move, now in a clear 3rd place with only the two whites ahead of him. Iron and Mav were now clear a few car lengths behind Chevy. Main battle now was between Phil, Ric , Counter and Simon. All four traded blows until Counter and Simon broke, Ric , Ashley and Phil, but Davey was 11th and catching. Martin had disappeared down the order and was now chasing again! Ashley joined Phil and Ric, with Martin was now catching them in 10th. So at half way Cozy led a 1/4 of a lap ahead of Chevy followed by Iron, Mav, Max, Counter, & Simon, Davey pushed Phil to the fence but as he was exiting the bend JB nipped through and baulked Davey's run out of the corner. Next bend Davey clipped the kerb, lost momentum and was now in the clutches of Phil and Martin. The three set about each other, but Davey managed to wriggle free and pull away. Lap 14 and Chevy took the lead but Cozy was unable to fight back straight away as Chevy had been tagged by Cozy which caused Cozy to ride the fence leaving Chevy a clear escape. Man on the move at this point was JB. He had just passed Ashley and Ric for 7th place after being 14th some 6 laps earlier. However Ric wouldn't let him go, and Ashley had Davey for company. Davey got by the fighting trio only for his motor to go sick on the last lap and was passed by Ashley and Martin. JB was next to try and pass Davey entering the last bend, but JB mounted the kerb and took the pair to the fence. Phil saw an opportunity and pushed Ric wide to claim 9th place. Ahead though Simon had managed to pass both Cozy and Counter only to clip the inner kerb on the last bend handing them back 4th & 5th places. The top three stayed the same for the latter half of the race, Mav coming home 3rd, Ironmac in 2nd, & Chevy in 1 st With winning the meeting final Chevy became the UK OPEN CHAMPION 2017.RESULT : 316, 288, 85, 255, 522, 285, 492, 400, 17, 145 FINAL WINNER MAN OF THE MEETING

MAY 2017 SHEFFIELD – 11 th May 2017 – 13 CarsRic #145 won the 8 car W&Y Race. Chevy #316 scored well, never being off the podium in any race, but didn’t win one either! Bathy #81 and Martin #400 won a heat with Counter #552 winning the other and scooping the main prize – The Final. Bathy won his 2nd race of the evening by taking the GN. Cozy #522 had a decent night from white bagging 26 points.UKSTOCKCARS F2 Meeting Review. ARENA ESSEX (WCQR) – 18 th May 2017 – 13 Cars Only 5 cars contested the W&Y Race with JB #295 being the victor. In his debut meeting of 2017, the current National Grading Champion Kendo #912 stole the show with 2 out of 3 heat wins, a Final win and 4th in GN! Other heat went to JB #295 & GN to Counter #552. FINAL WINNER TOP POINT SCORER BIRMINGHAM NEW – 1st June 2017 – 8 Cars 5 Whites and Yellows took to the track with Ironmac #288 winning the race. Three straight heats, saw three different winners – Bathy #81, Chevy #316 (Now from Superstar) and Ironmac #288 his 2 nd win of the evening. The Final was a shock result with Ric #145 staying clear to take his first F2 Final win. GN rounded off the evening with Chevy #316 taking his second win and Ric #145 claiming 4th from the handicap.

F2 UK OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2017 Cozy #522 getting away early from pole was the best chance of an upset, but this possibility vanished in an early pile up which saw Macca #3, JB 295, JohnC #53 and Max #160 all come together. Cozy led, but had no breathing space from Chevy #316, Kendo #912 and Mark #401. By lap 6 Kendo had taken the lead and when Mark and Chevy were baulked by back markers a lap later the result was never really in doubt. Bathy #81 capitalised and got himself in to 2nd place which he kept to the end and Chevy and Mark made up the top 4. Budge #313 and Ashley #492 were 5th and 6th with Cozy #522 in 7th place.RESULT : 912, 81, 316, 401, 313, 492, 522, 295, 3, 160 // 53 W&Y Race doubled as Heat 1, with the victor being JB #295. Mark #401 won two of the five heats, with Budge #313 and Cozy #522 taking the other two. CHEVY CHASE – CATCH HIM IF YOU CAN! Having only raced a handful of times in F2’s over the last few seasons, you now have completed every meeting so far and have been very successful. What prompted you to race F2 more regularly and what do you attribute your immediate success to? I have never been a massive fan of F2s from the start, not because there F2s but because of the physics of the cars, I don’t like the way they fall over if you hit a kerb. I also find it completely different to set up from an F1 which I just can’t seem to get the hang of. Also after doing the F1’s on a Weds night I just couldn’t be bothered to race F2’s afterwards in all honesty. Over the winter Bathy said he can’t commit to Wednesdays enough to run F2’s which got me thinking, I did contact Bathy to see if he could do Thursdays as he does an awesome job at running the formula and it was agreed, hopefully to increase numbers as well. That’s why I now race F2 to help with numbers and because I’m not so tired. As for success I have no idea tbh how that has happened! I haven’t got many setups so just use the one that is included on the game and maybe tweak a thing or two and go with it. I never expected to do as well as I have done but that will change now I’m up to Superstar! Chevy #316 has been in the game for over 10 years, but the month of May 2017 possibly could be described as his best ever! Superstar in F1’s Chevy has had to fight on occasions against 5 other Superstars as well as the rest of the grid. He still managed to score an average of 41.50 Points over 4 Meetings! Topped off the month by claiming the UK Open Championship title as well. If that wasn’t enough Chevy has took up racing F2’s and has amassed 309 points in 6 meetings from blue and sits on top of the F2 National Grading list! Chevy Chase – I think we have too! You have raced many seasons, starting with UKDirt , but who do you consider to be your favourite driver to race against and who out of the current drivers is your biggest challenge? Favourite driver to race against.......that’s a tuffy! I have had some good races with a lot of people over the years probably to many to remember, there isn’t one that stands out tbh but so long as it’s a good hard race i enjoy them all. Biggest challengers?.....Obviously it’s got to be Daveyboy and Martin that are the biggest two but there are a lot of good drivers amongst all grades that can all give you a good race on there day, So i suppose i could say all of them really as you have to beat them all if you want to win. !

Last three seasons you have been F1 Admin, what is the best and worst the job has to offer? 3 YEARS ALREADY!!!! BLIMEY TIME GOES TO FAST LOL. I wouldn’t say I have a worse job tbh there is nothing that I don’t like doing. The best job is seeing everyone enjoying the league. In all honesty it wouldn’t bother me one bit if I stopped racing all together and just ran the league . I’m happy watching other people enjoy it . If their happy, I’m happy. Yes you get a few moans etc but that is to be expected but on a whole we have a cracking league and long may it continue Part 2 The F1 and F2 British championship is looming, this month. As you will be starting both from Superstar what do you think of your chances of success? In F2, none what so ever! No chance as I’m just not quick enough. In F1, just have to see how the night goes tbh, even tho I’m Superstar I still don’t consider myself as a top driver (I never have & probably never will lol ). I have never won any of the top 3 majors, World , British or Euro and don’t expect to either. Now I race for the fun if I win, I win, if I don’t, I don’t! I have been 2nd in WF etc and I’m sure other podium places in other Champs but never stood on the top step so why start now! lol. The UK Open was a great win for me I must admit but again I thought something would go wrong it normally does lol With your vast experience, what is the best advice you could give to new drivers to the league? PRACTICE!!! When I first started for the first few months I just ran lap after lap etc on all tracks trying to get at least a basic setup, even before I raced online. Learning how the car handles and car control is the first thing of importance I would say. Then once online just race your own race within your own limits , don’t try and race people faster than yourself as speed will come in time. CHEVY CHASE – CATCH HIM IF YOU CAN! CHEVY CHEVY

2 2017 UKStockcars F1 British Drivers Championship 2011 KENDO 2012 MAV 2013 LEEK 2014 DAVEY 2015 DAVEY 2016 DAVEY What are the odds for the F1 League Drivers success? There next! ……….. The F1 British Championship takes place on 14 th June 2017 at Coventry Stadium. Traditionally one of the hardest titles to win, with the final grid being made up from the points scored in the heats, with the highest point scorer on pole. Therefore to be in with the best chance of taking the title, a driver would have to perform well in all heats, then outrace everyone else on the grid! Whoever takes the 2017 Crown will have earned it! 2017 British Championship Main Contenders

2 2017 F1 British Championship Drivers Preview SUPERSTARS DAVEYBOY #1Davey has held the title for the past 3 seasons & he won’t want to let it go lightly. Strong contender but could easily be side tracked by other drivers ODDS : 4/1 – Top 3 placing. MARTIN #400Martin has an excellent chance to take his first major title. Very capable of turning it on when needed but would have to be wary of one other driver! ODDS : 4/1 – Top 3 placing. CHEVY #316Best season so far for Chevy, and a win is not beyond him from anywhere on the grid. Will be giving it everything and it may just pay off! ODDS : 6/1 – Top 3 placing. MARK #147 Mark is a very quiet driver, who just gets on with his racing and to good effect. If luck holds Mark could be in with a great chance of taking the title. ODDS : 9 /1 – Top 5 placing .ANT #80A final win at Ringwood is about all Ant can shout about this season. No fortune anywhere else so he’s already on a downer. A great race could see him right!ODDS : 20/1 – Top 10 placing.REDSIRONMAC #288 A strong performer from blue this season, but now up to red could prove too much for the title. Will try hard but if not clear will struggle in traffic. ODDS : 60/1 – Outside Top 10 COUNTER #255 A superb season so far for Counter, and could cause an upset especially with the front runners. Has a real chance but a lot will depend on the SuperstarsODDS : 25/1 – Top 5 placing. BATHYBOY #81 Very much a stealth driver who has the ability to be in contention at the right time. To win would need some luck but Bathy wont be far away! ODDS : 25/1 – Top 5 placing . SIMON #285 Has the potential to challenge Davey & Martin but would need a clean shot at it. Simon won’t be hanging around so expect fireworks at any time! ODDS : 20/1 – Top 5 placing . JARRY #164 Although only appeared once this season Jarry is able to turn it on when needed. He will be a front runner all meeting and would be in with a serious shout. ODDS : 9/1 – Top 5 placing . BLUES PHIL #17 With not being upgraded to red, Phil has a real chance of making the first two rows of the grid. From there he will have to be at his best, but does have a chance. ODDS : 25/1 – Top 10 placing . OWEN #66 If Owen can stay out of bumper battles, his heat performances should give him a good grid slot. Then its just a case of going for it and see what happens. ODDS : 90/1 – Top 10 placing . JOUKE #474 New this season and just dropped from red. Seems to struggle on shale but he is too bumper happy to be a contender for the title this season. ODDS : 100/1 – Outside Top 10 JONNYBOY #2 JB has been revitalised this season. His recent upgrade will be a blow as from yellow, Pole was calling. JB will be there to enjoy and to do his best. ODDS : 120/1 – Outside Top 10 ALEC #74 Has the ability to grind out results and that’s what’s keeping him at blue. Will have to be on his best to get results but could start mid pack if all goes well. ODDS : 100/1 – Outside Top 10 F1 Whites & Yellows next……….

2 2017 F1 British Championship Drivers Preview YELLOWS RIC #145Ric has raced really well so far this season and if he can break clear in the heats he has a great chance of being in the front two rows. ODDS : 150/1 – Outside Top 10. ASHLEY #492It will be a long night for Ashley, but if he is fit enough should be able to pull off some good results. One to watch for a high grid slot. ODDS : 150/1 – Top 10 placing COZY #522When Cozy laid off the bumper he proved what he could achieve. From yellow he needs a steady head to pick up points. Interesting to watch! ODDS : 175/1 – Outside Top 10 BIG AL #515 Veteran driver who races to enjoy, but has the capability of springing a surprise. Has the ability to be very near the front if his heats go well. GO AL! ODDS : 150/1 – Outside Top 10 CHRIS #21Performing well in the W&Y races but struggles in the meetings. If he has some luck Chris could do well and be mid pack come the British.ODDS : 175/1 – Outside Top 10WHITES TOM #293A trier who seems to have lost his way lately. Rather get involved in others races than to run his own. Could upset a few if he interferes at this meeting. ODDS : 250/1 – May Not Qualify PJ #250 Can drive well when alone, but tends to bumper and barge then looses out. Sit and follow and the results will come. Could make the grid if performs well. ODDS : 250/1 – Outside Top 10 Max #160 Learning more every meeting and the improvement shows. Might be more in the way than in the race but his efforts are commendable. Keep at it! ODDS : 250/1 – May Not Qualify JOHNC #53 Kings Lynn was a major improvement and I am sure his improvement will continue. A fair backmarker which he wont be for too much longer! ODDS : 250/1 – May Not Qualify ANDY #542 Really struggling at present, but new machinery soon could see a turning point. Hopefully he wont be remembered for the wrong reasons at the British tho ! ODDS : 250/1 – May Not Qualify OTHERS! MACCA #3 Downgraded to Yellow but still hasn’t got into the groove as yet. Well capable of scoring well, and the British maybe that stepping stone back to point scoring. ODDS : 175/1 – Outside Top 10 SHANE #H57 Debut meeting at Kings Lynn, showed us that he can drive by winning a heat. Could be on front rows if the young Dutch star can show consistency. ODDS : 225/1 – Outside Top 10 PRYDIE #9 May make a surprise appearance and ruffle some feathers! A definite Dark Horse as he is quick and ruthless. Will fight all the way to the flag, Interesting! ODDS : 15/1 – Top 5 placing . MAV #85 Superstar will be Mav’s hindrance. Previous winner of the title but would have to have a big slice of luck to take it this time around. Will be trying tho ! ODDS : 25/1 – Top 10 placing . F2 BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW next………. BENNYBOY #155 Only raced a couple of times this season to varying degrees of success. Should go well but won’t be challenging high up the grid. ODDS : 120/1 – Outside Top 10

The F2 British Championship takes place on 29 th June 2017 at Bristol Raceway.

2 2017 F2 British Championship Drivers Preview SUPERSTARS BATHYBOY #81Bathy would love to bag this title and being at a favourite track has every opportunity to do so. No surprise if he wins as its long overdue! ODDS : 4/1 – Top 3 placing. MARTIN #400Raced twice so far this season but not at Bristol. However his talent will be enough for him to challenge for the title or his temperament will win! ODDS : 4/1 – Top 3 placing. CHEVY #316Going great guns this season and even an up grading to Superstar hasn’t stopped him winning. Maybe a tad of luck required to take the title but he can do it. ODDS : 6/1 – Top 5 placing. KENDO #912 It’s a surprise that Kendo hasn’t won this title again since 2010. Undoubtedly the favourite this year and will be itching for that Chequered wing again. ODDS : 2/1 – Top 3 placing .DAVEYBOY #1Current World Champion hasn’t been seen so far this season. Sure to make an appearance to try and win 3 on the trot – He could do it if others allow!ODDS : 2/1 – Top 3 placing.REDS COUNTER #552Is a real contender in F2’s and has the race craft to beat the best on occasions. Have to be at that best to lift the title but definitely one to watch! ODDS : 10/1 – Top 5 placing. BUDGE #313 If any Superstars want to win it they will have to successfully negotiate Budge first! Renowned for his hard hits so could do well or could just flop! Watch Out! ODDS : 25/1 – Top 10 placing. MARK #401 Current European Champion goes about his racing quietly. Scores well but may just not have enough to lift the title at this time. Dark Horse though! ODDS : 20/1 – Top 10 placing . BLUES PHIL #17 Steady driver in F2’s and if he can make the break he will score well in the heats, but as for the British maybe just hasn’t enough to challenge for the win. ODDS : 50/1 – Top 10 placing . ASHLEY #492 Just dropped from red, so should help him secure a decent grid slot for the British. Whether he can hang in there when it gets rough we will see! ODDS : 75/1 – Top 10 Placing JONNYBOY #2 W on the Final at Bristol earlier this season but from yellow. Blue will be a challenge but knowing JB he will relish it and give it everything he has got! ODDS : 35/1 – Top 10 placing F2 Whites & Yellows next………. PRYDIE #97 May make an appearance and could upset the applecart! Tremendous racer when the chips are down and should never count him out – at all! ODDS : 10/1 – Top 5 placing . MAV #641 Could make a surprise appearance, but even having won the final at the last meeting in 2016, wouldn’t trouble the front runners for the title. ODDS : 35/1 – Top 10 placing

2 2017 F2 British Championship Drivers Preview YELLOWS RIC #145Won the meeting final at Birmingham New to show he has got what it takes! If no form at Bristol Ric will struggle but if he has he might be hard to catch.ODDS : 120/1 – Outside Top 10. IRONMAC #288 Recent downgrade could help Iron secure some decent place finishes. If his brother Ric doesn’t take him out, Iron could be on the front rows.ODDS : 120/1 – Outside Top 10 COZY #522 Newly promoted to yellow, Cozy could find this one step too far at this present time. Won’t stop him from trying and it will be good experience for him.ODDS : 175/1 – Outside Top 10 JOUKE #474 Opening meeting was a dream with 3 heat wins, but with no form at Bristol, Jouke will struggle at this quirky track. Bumpers may play a part though. ODDS : 175/1 – Outside Top 10CHRIS #21Only meeting raced this season was here at Bristol, although he didn’t fair too well. Might need to up his game to when he was World Champ to get results. ODDS : 175/1 – Outside Top 10YELLOWS ALEC #74 One meeting but no good return. Poor performance at Sheffield suggests he may struggle at Bristol. Would be good to see him there trying even so. ODDS : 200/1 – Outside Top 10 OWEN #66 Raced at the opening meeting and did poorly. May not show but could have a better meeting if he was to, as Owen is a trier . Depends on his mentality though ODDS : 200/1 – Outside Top 10 MACCA #3 Raced at Kings Lynn Old and did reasonably well. Not sure about his ability around Bristol, but even if he was to plod around he should still be in the results. ODDS : 200/1 – Outside Top 10 JOHNC #53 No points scored at Bristol but that wont dampen John’s spirit. Learning more and more each meeting John will improve and British will be good experience. ODDS : 250/1 – May Not Qualify ANDY #542 Really struggling at present, but new machinery soon could see a turning point. Hopefully he wont be remembered for the wrong reasons at the British tho ! ODDS : 250/1 – May Not Qualify WHITES MAX #160 Also scored 5 points last time out and will be in the same boat as Tom. Practice and patience could help Max onto the back row of the British grid. ODDS : 250/1 – Outside Top 10 GOOD LUCK TO ALL DRIVERS IN THE F1 & F2 BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS ! TOM #293 Only 5 points scored at Bristol last time out, but now has a better idea of the track.
