We Are Learning About…Reading: We will focus on the vowel Uu (short sound, like at the beginning of umbrella and in the middle of mug) and the following sight words: as, his. We will ask and answer questions about characters, setting and story events and main topic/key details to help us understand stories better. We will look at the pictures, get our mouths ready, stretchy snake (sound out) and use Chunky Monkey to help us solve tricky words! EQ: How do we take care of different kinds of pets?Writing: We will review printing Uu. We will try to label beginning, middle and ending sounds in words and use sight words to write complete sentences. We will use pictures and words to explain what we learn about influential African Americans, as well as taking care of pets!Math: We will continue Go Math Chapter 7: Represent, Count and Write Numbers 11-19!Science: We will continue Unit 7: Force and Motion!Social Studies: We will circle back as a school to the Hawks Rise Character Trait: Patience. We will also continue our celebration of influential African Americans during Black History Month!
