What is W

E

ATHER?

The state or atmosphere at any time

Temperature, precipitation, air pressure and cloud cover.

Daily changes in the weather- winds and storms.Slide3

The SUN and EARTH

P

rovides heat, energy and acts as the main engine-driving source.Generates temperature variations. W

arms

up the earth unevenly due to

earth's

natural tilt at an angle of 23.5

degrees.

C

auses

the areas near

equator

to be warmed up much more than the Poles. Slide4

HOW DOES THE SUN AFFECT THE WEATHER?Slide5

RAIN

Sun warms up air.

Water gets created when cold front meets a warm front. Leads to rain.Slide6

WIND

Sun warms up the earth's surface.

This warm air expands and rise, as it rises, air will then cool and descend.Up and down cycle- rising warm air and descending cool air generates a weather known as wind.Slide7

HURRICANES

Sun warms up air over the sea near equator. Warm air will rise creating a cloud. Cold air replaces the warm air that has lifted and the clashes between cold and warm air will be creating spiraling turbulence known

as hurricanes.Slide8
