For many people, religion is a large part of life whether it be because of one's culture, family, or simply an enlightening experience. For others, religion is meaningless, unfamiliar, or something that they are involuntarily involved with. For those who choose to participate in religious practices, religion can serve as a means of purpose--proving some people with the answers to the wonders of the world. Faith can guide people through life, giving people the courage and strength to make it through the trials and tribulations of life. Religion can also serve as a moral compass, mapping out what is "right" and "wrong" for many. For those who choose not to participate in religious culture and practice, alternative means can be found to serve the same purposes that religion often does. Many people who are religious think that their way of life is "better" or the correct way to live, and many people who are not religious believe the same thing about themselves (although this is not always true for entire communities of people). But do these differences really matter? Does religion make a difference in regard to one's livelihood? Health? Are people who are religious "happier"?
