Cultural Activities!
Meetings with Ocean City’s Mayor & Tour of City Hall June 14th, July 12th
and July 26th Participants will meet at City Hall at 10:30am for a tour, and then will meet with Mayor Meehan in his office 11:00am to 11:45am.
Free lunch will be served at 12:00pm
Participants may attend the City Council Work Session at 1:00pm *Students will register for all cultural events on the

Cultural Activities!
Shorebirds Games at Perdue Stadium, Salisbury, MD June 13th, and 27th
Participants will meet at WOC Park and Ride at 5:30 PM
and be transported to the stadium by Holloway Tours Participants will have special seating at the stadium and will be served a hot dog and soda; Shorebirds enthusiasts will be on hand to talk to participants about the gameGames start at 7:05pm
Participants will be returned to WOC Park and Ride at the end of the game by Holloway ToursThe events will be limited to 55 participants each game
Cost for Shorebirds Game Package is
$5 per

J-1 Safety Nights on the Beach June 9th, June 23rd
at 5:30pm Division Street & Boardwalk – on the beach
Rotating groups will meet with the Police Dept., Beach Patrol, Emergency Services, and Fire Dept. to watch safety demonstrations, learn about safety equipment, see inside various vehicles, also canine unit demonstration Free pizza and soda will be

Bike safetyNo drinking alcohol while riding. A bicycle must obey traffic rules for cars and travel in the same direction. Use bike lanes when possible.

Beach Rules and Safety
Beach rules:No nudity or undressing on the beach.No sleeping on the beach.Swim near a lifeguards,
no night swimming!
Lifeguards (Beach Patrol) on duty 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Wear sunscreen.Stay hydrated to protect against heat stroke.Beaches close from midnight to 6 a.m.

Keep your money safe!
PUT YOUR MONEY IN THE BANK!Open a bank account. Do not keep large sums of money on you or in your residence. Have your money wired to your home account when you leave.
Use a debit or bank card, do not tell anyone your pin number.Protect your money—as Americans do!Slide15
Protect Your Personal Property at all times! Lock your doors when you are out
Lock up all of your personal property i.e..
Computers bikes, mopeds and travel documents that is not in your possession. Open bank accounts and put your money in the bank
Have copies (preferably color) of all your official travel documents and work permits (Passports, VISA, and ID Cards) make sure they are in a secure location at all times.
Back up your personal computer files on an external hard drive (in case the computer is stolen)Slide16

Never give your documents to anyone. Make a copy of them and keep it in a safe place other than with your documents.
It is illegal for anyone to take your documents from you – *Unless they are law enforcement.
Protect your documents!

Hurricanes
Occur on the East Coast. We are in Hurricane season.
OC has never had a major one. You Must be prepared.If evacuation is needed, believe the announcements. Take one bag and your documents to the Convention Center on 41
st Street for buses to take you to a safe place until storm is passed.
