Thoughts about teeth!
Have you ever thought about how many teeth you have and what your teeth are called? Well I am going to try and answer that question for you and tell you the name, what it does and how many teeth you have!Slide3
The main teeth!
There are 4 main types of teeth that do different jobs to help us eat. They are called the canines, the premolars and the incisors.Slide4
Canines
The canines are longer, wider and sharper to tear and rip through food that we eat. We have 4 canines in total. 2 on the bottom and 2 on the top.Slide5
Premolars
Premolars and molars are
found at the back of the mouth. What they do is that they squash and crush your food.
You have 4 upper premolars and 4 lower premolars.
You have 6 upper and 6 lower molars, That’s including your wisdom teeth.Slide6
Incisors
Incisors are at the front of the mouth. They are wide and have a sharp edge like chisels. Incisors are used for biting and nibbling.Slide7
The parts to a tooth!
This picture shows the parts to a tooth. The enamel is the hardest substance in the human body
! Slide8
So how many do we have?
In total children have about 20 teeth or more and adults have about 32 or more teeth.Slide9
