DLIG PurposeExpand or establish dual language immersion (DLI) programs that provide integrated language learning and academic instruction for: Native speakers of English, and Native speakers of another language. With the goals of: High academic achievement, First and second language proficiency, and Cross-cultural understanding.
6. DLIG Program AuthorizationAssembly Bill 130, Chapter 44, Section 158, Statutes of 2021, provides $10,000,000 over a period of three fiscal years, for the DLIG program to assist eligible entities to expand current or establish new DLI programs.
7. DLIG Funding and DurationTotal grant budget of $10,000,000 Funds are available to grantees based on the application and proposed budgetFunds will be distributed to a minimum of 25 granteesElementary and secondary levels may apply for the DLIGAmount of each grant is up to $380,000Grantees establishing a new DLI program could receive an additional $20,000Grant period is three years: July 1, 2022–June 30, 2025
